Our Next Energy (ONE), a Michigan-based energy storage technology company, has announced the recent closure of its office in Hwaseong, South Korea. The move is part of the company’s strategy to centralize its battery cell development and operations in Michigan, reinforcing its commitment to local production and innovation.

Key Highlights:

  • Office Closure: The Hwaseong, South Korea, office, established in 2023, had fewer than 10 employees.
  • Employee Transition: Some employees were offered relocation opportunities to join ONE’s U.S.-based battery cell team.
  • Domestic Production: ONE began pilot production of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery cells in October 2023 at its factory in Van Buren Township, Michigan.

This decision reflects ONE’s focus on consolidating operations to better align with its long-term goals of advancing energy storage technology through local innovation and production. By centralizing efforts in Michigan, the company aims to optimize resources and reinforce its commitment to a localized supply chain.
