Polestar is enhancing the pre-owned electric vehicle market by introducing battery state-of-health certificates for its pre-owned Polestar 2 models. This initiative aims to provide customers with greater confidence in the quality and longevity of the batteries in these vehicles. Alongside this, Polestar is hosting a sales event with attractive offers and is set to open its first dedicated pre-owned Space in Birmingham.
Key Highlights
- Battery health certificates for pre-owned Polestar 2s
- Sales event with low interest rates and free home charger
- First dedicated pre-owned Space opening in Birmingham
- Over-the-air updates ensure cars stay current
- Comprehensive checks and warranties for pre-owned cars

Polestar’s introduction of battery state-of-health certificates addresses a key concern for buyers of pre-owned electric vehicles: battery condition. These certificates offer a transparent assessment of the battery’s health, expressed as a percentage of its original capacity. This transparency helps buyers make informed decisions and ensures the vehicle remains reliable for years to come.
To make pre-owned cars more accessible, Polestar is holding a national sales event until April 30. Customers can benefit from a reduced interest rate of 8.9% APR on PCP finance and receive a complimentary Zaptec home charger, saving up to GBP 495. This offer applies to all pre-owned Polestar models, including the Polestar 2, Polestar 3, and Polestar 4.
In May, Polestar will open its first dedicated pre-owned Space in Erdington, Birmingham. This standalone site will focus exclusively on pre-owned Polestars, offering the same high-quality service as new car purchases. This move provides a cost-effective way to own a premium EV while supporting efforts to reduce carbon emissions.

A standout feature of Polestar vehicles, including pre-owned ones, is their ability to receive over-the-air (OTA) updates. These updates keep the car’s software current, adding features and improving performance. Since its 2020 launch, the Polestar 2 has received over 20 OTA updates, including range-enhancing battery management improvements and apps like Waze and YouTube.
Every pre-owned Polestar undergoes a thorough 112-point check and comes with a 24-month warranty, plus the remainder of the 8-year battery warranty. This ensures buyers receive a dependable vehicle.
Matt Galvin, Managing Director of Polestar UK, stated: “As more pre-owned Polestars become available, we want customers to purchase with the same confidence as buying new. The battery health certificates and our comprehensive pre-owned program provide transparency and reassurance, easing the transition to electric mobility.”
Polestar’s initiatives—battery health certificates, special sales events, dedicated pre-owned Spaces, and ongoing software updates—highlight its commitment to customer satisfaction and sustainable transportation.
