Porsche is expanding the option list for the Cayenne Electric with the new model year, adding electrically operated doors, an 11 kW wireless charging system, a 4D-audio massage function, and 92 Paint to Sample colors that bring the available palette to 105 shades. The company says the Cayenne Electric can now be configured more extensively than any previous model in the Cayenne line. The updates apply to both the Cayenne Electric SUV and the Cayenne Coupé Electric, and mark the first time Porsche has offered electric doors and inductive charging on a production model.
Highlights
- Electric doors: Servo motors open and close all four doors after a brief pull on the handle, with sensor-based obstacle detection.
- Porsche Wireless Charging: Inductive ground pad transfers up to 11 kW at about 90 percent efficiency, now available to order in Germany and other European markets.
- Massage with 4D audio: 16 air cushions and six sound actuators per front seat, five programs with selectable vibration intensity.
- Paint to Sample: 92 additional shades join 13 standard colors for a total of 105 available paint options.
How Do the Cayenne Electric’s Electric Doors Work?
Servo motors handle the opening and closing of all four doors. A brief pull on the door handle starts the movement, and the door completes the motion automatically. The system can be operated from inside or outside the vehicle through cabin buttons, the door handles, the Flow Display of the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system, or remotely via the Porsche Digital Key. The driver’s door can also be closed by fastening the seat belt or pressing the brake pedal.
According to Porsche, the doors operate in a single smooth motion and function on inclines. Sensors monitor the area around each door and halt the automatic movement if an obstacle or a person is detected. Working with assistance features such as the exit warning system, the doors will not open when other vehicles are approaching. Manual operation remains available at all times.
Porsche Wireless Charging Now Available to Order
Porsche Wireless Charging replaces the cable connection with a permanently installed ground pad. The driver positions the Cayenne Electric over the pad, and charging begins automatically.
The system consists of three components: vehicle-side preparation for the required hardware, the vehicle pad, and the ground pad installed in the parking space. The ground pad is weatherproof and can be installed outdoors. Porsche reports energy transfer of up to 11 kW at an efficiency of about 90 percent.
Motion sensors and foreign object detection are built into the system. Charging stops automatically if a living creature approaches the vehicle or the ground pad, or if a metallic object on the pad begins to heat up. Porsche first detailed the 11 kW inductive system as an option for the Cayenne Electric in late 2025.
All components are now available to order in Germany and other European markets, and the company says the system is being rolled out worldwide in stages. Porsche notes the offer is planned for all countries with Porsche Connect, excluding China.
Massage Function With 4D Audio
The new massage function combines pneumatic massage with sound-based vibration. The driver’s and front passenger’s seats each contain 16 air cushions and six sound actuators in the backrest and seat cushion. Five massage programs are available, each with selectable vibration massage at multiple intensity levels. The seat-integrated sound actuators produce what Porsche describes as a four-dimensional listening experience.
Both the program and intensity are adjusted through the central display, and the 4D audio function can be activated independently of the massage. The distribution and strength of vibrations are also adjustable. The function is integrated into the Cayenne’s Mood Modes, with three additional Wellness Mood Modes that pair the pneumatic massage and vibration with curated sound programs.
Paint to Sample Brings Palette to 105 Shades
The Cayenne Electric now joins the Paint to Sample program from Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur. The 92 Paint to Sample shades add to the 13 standard colors offered in the Contrasts, Shades, Dreams, and Legends categories, giving customers 105 paint options in total.
New Interior Accents
The Interior Style Package, developed by the Style Porsche design studio and Exclusive Manufaktur, is already available across all Cayenne Electric derivatives with a two-tone design in black and green tones. With the new model year, Porsche adds the Extended Package Interior Style, which includes additional leather trims and decorative stitching in Delgada Green.
Other new options include a leather/Race-Tex seat console for the front and rear and interior sill trim panels upholstered in Race-Tex, each with colored decorative stitching. The changes follow the Cayenne Coupé Electric’s debut at Auto China 2026, which extended the electric Cayenne lineup to a second body style.
