Power Your Home with EV: Flux Launches

Flux, a forward-thinking start-up, has successfully implemented its first Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) solution, enabling customers to power their homes using their electric vehicles (EVs). By utilizing a Ford F-150 Lightning during peak hours, the innovative approach helps reduce electricity bills by up to 80%. The company has also opened pre-orders for its service, expecting deliveries in select markets by 2025.

Key Highlights:

  • First customer successfully powers home with a Ford F-150 Lightning.
  • Up to 80% savings on electricity bills using Flux’s two-way charger.
  • Customers can choose between two subscription options:
    • Customer pays for the charger.
    • Flux pays for the charger and shares electricity savings.
  • Future software updates will introduce Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technology, allowing EV owners to generate additional income by selling energy back to utilities.
  • Potential for customers to save and earn a combined total of $12,000 annually.
  • Flux enables EVs to power homes during power outages.
  • Pre-orders are now available for a range of EVs including those from Ford, GM, Rivian, Tesla, and more.

Flux’s system uses a two-way charger paired with smart software that charges the EV during off-peak hours and discharges it during peak demand times, drastically cutting down energy costs. The company also envisions a future where their Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) platform enables EVs to provide services to local utilities, generating additional revenue for car owners.

Pre-orders for the system have opened, and Flux expects to begin deliveries in select markets by 2025. The service is compatible with a wide range of EVs from major manufacturers like Ford, GM, Tesla, Rivian, and others.

As CEO Parsa Bakhtiari noted, “This is the next evolutionary step for EVs”, signaling a future where every new electric vehicle could become a valuable asset not only for transportation but also for energy management and home backup power solutions.
