Strategic Partnership Details

Range Zero Emissions is recognized as the first nationwide dealership dedicated exclusively to multi-brand commercial electric vehicles (EVs). The company will leverage its headquarters in Fife, Washington, and a facility near Minneapolis to support RIZON deployments.

Alex Voets, General Manager of RIZON Truck USA, noted that Range’s focus on sales, education, and power solutions addresses critical industry gaps. This business model simplifies the transition process for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and commercial fleets.

Market Response and Support

Range opened its Fife location near the Port of Tacoma in August. According to Range CEO Johannes Ariens, the dealership has witnessed significant interest and commitments from fleet managers across multiple states.

Ariens emphasized that Daimler’s commitment to the RIZON brand signals a strong future for the industry. The partnership aims to remove complexity from fleet electrification through expert guidance on lifecycle support and incentives.

RIZON Technical Specifications

Vehicle Capabilities

RIZON medium-duty trucks are engineered specifically for urban and last-mile delivery operations. They provide a range of up to 160 miles on a single charge to meet daily route requirements.

The platform features high versatility for upfitting. Common applications include:

  • Dry vans
  • Flatbeds
  • Reefers
  • Landscape dumps

A critical component is the electric power take-off (ePTO). This system allows the vehicle to operate specialized equipment, such as hydraulic pumps and reefer belt drives, without an internal combustion engine.

Charging Standards

RIZON trucks offer flexible charging options to accommodate current infrastructure and future upgrades. Compatibility includes:

  • DC Fast Charging: Utilizes the CCS1 connector for rapid energy replenishment.
  • Level 2 AC Charging: Uses the J1772 connector for cost-effective overnight charging.
