Renault UK has teamed up with Octopus Energy to offer customers who order a Scenic E-Tech 100% electric or Megane E-Tech 100% electric vehicle before December 16, 2024, a year of free charging. The partnership also provides customers access to Octopus Energy’s Intelligent Octopus Go tariff, potentially saving hundreds of pounds annually on home charging.

- One year of free charging: Eligible customers will receive credit equivalent to a year’s worth of off-peak charging, based on typical vehicle efficiency.
- Save on home charging: With the Intelligent Octopus Go tariff, drivers can save significantly compared to standard home energy rates.
- 100% renewable energy: The Intelligent Octopus tariff utilizes energy from fully renewable sources, reducing both costs and carbon footprint.
- Optimized charging: The Mobilize Smart Charge app schedules vehicle charging for the greenest and cheapest times.
Retail customers who purchase a Scenic or Megane E-Tech electric vehicle and sign up for the Intelligent Octopus Go tariff will receive a credit on their energy account, equivalent to the cost of charging at off-peak rates for up to 10,000 miles. This credit is calculated using each vehicle’s efficiency metrics and Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP) figures.
The Mobilize Smart Charge app helps Renault EV owners reduce both the cost and environmental impact of home charging. The app determines the best times to charge based on factors such as grid capacity, availability of renewable energy, electricity prices, and customer preferences like charge level and departure times. This smart scheduling reduces costs while using greener energy sources.
The Intelligent Octopus tariff offers 100% renewable energy, with off-peak rates as low as 7 pence per kWh. This rate is available throughout the day and night when using smart charging. In addition, homes benefit from guaranteed off-peak pricing for six hours nightly, from 11:30 PM to 5:30 AM. Drivers of the Renault Megane E-Tech 100% electric could save up to 70% annually on energy costs compared to a standard variable tariff.
Octopus Energy, the UK’s largest electricity supplier, powers over seven million homes and 60,000 businesses with energy from renewable sources like solar and wind. Octopus’ Kraken platform, driven by advanced data analytics and machine learning, is used to manage and optimize energy use across millions of devices, including electric vehicles, helping to balance the grid while keeping energy costs low.
