Rockwell Automation will provide software solutions to support Lucid Motors’ electric vehicle manufacturing facility in Saudi Arabia. The plant at King Abdullah Economic City represents the Kingdom’s first vehicle manufacturing site and will produce Lucid’s future midsize electric vehicles.

FactoryTalk MES Deployment Scope
Lucid will implement Rockwell Automation’s enterprise software platform, including the FactoryTalk manufacturing execution system (MES), across all primary production areas. The system will provide real-time visibility, traceability, and control throughout operations.
The deployment covers five key manufacturing shops:
- General assembly
- Paint
- Stamping
- Body
- Powertrain
Production and Quality Objectives
Ahmad Haydar, country leader for Rockwell Automation in Saudi Arabia, stated that the FactoryTalk MES adoption will deliver operational efficiency, quality improvements, and scalability. The software will support Lucid’s production targets while ensuring integration with global supply chains and compliance with local standards.
The partnership extends an existing relationship between the two companies that began with Lucid’s Arizona manufacturing operations.
Workforce Development Initiative
Rockwell’s Saudi Arabia team will deliver instructor-led and virtual training programs to local personnel. The initiative aims to equip Saudi workers with EV manufacturing expertise, supporting the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 industrial development objectives.
Faisal Sultan, president of Middle East at Lucid, described Rockwell Automation as a trusted partner throughout Lucid’s expansion from Arizona to Saudi Arabia. The software solutions and local expertise will support production scaling while maintaining quality standards.
