Ryvid, the California-based electric motorcycle manufacturer, offers customers a transformative riding experience through the Power Controller Upgrade by Accelerated Systems Inc (ASI) for their Anthem and Outset models. New buyers can configure their orders to include the ASI Controller at Ryvid’s Californian assembly facility. Existing owners can either install the ASI Controller themselves or request a technician from Ryvid for the installation.
Key Highlights:
- Significant boost in power and torque delivery
- Peak torque increases from 250 ft-lb to 334 ft-lb
- Horsepower jumps from 20hp to 27hp
- No negative effect on battery range
- Selectable Sport and Eco riding modes for flexibility
Ryvid engineers have tested the ASI Controller, confirming that it significantly enhances acceleration by increasing power and torque. Using the stock 4.7:1 final drive, peak torque jumps from 250 ft-lb to 334 ft-lb, and peak horsepower rises from 20hp to 27hp. Impressively, this upgrade does not reduce the battery range, making the Anthem and Outset more enjoyable and highway capable.
The performance increase is recommended for experienced riders. However, both the Anthem and Outset retain selectable riding modes: Sport and Eco. In Eco mode, power delivery is moderated, and regenerative braking is activated. Sport mode offers full performance, with stronger regenerative braking, adjustable by a rider-selected trigger.
For those looking to create the “ultimate urban slayer,” the Power Controller Upgrade by ASI can be fitted to any new Anthem or Outset ordered directly from Ryvid’s website. As a limited-time promotion, Outset orders placed before July 31, 2024, will receive the ASI Controller for free. New or current Anthem owners can purchase the upgrade for $800 via the website.
DIY installation requires some expertise, as owners need to install a secondary wiring harness. The process is not plug-and-play but a guiding video is available on Ryvid’s website, with an estimated installation time of three hours. Alternatively, Ryvid offers technician installation for a service fee.
Reviewers and riders have reported positively on the upgraded performance of the Anthem with the ASI Controller, praising its affordability and enhanced riding experience. The Ryvid Anthem is priced at $6,495, while the Outset is available for $5,995.
Both models share a rigid steel backbone frame, instrument display, removable 4.3kWh battery with integrated charger, 72V air-cooled, brushless DC motor, controller, and sealed belt drive. They can reach top speeds of 75 mph and offer up to 75 miles of range. The Anthem features an adjustable seat height from 31-34”, and the Outset has a 33” seat height, accommodating various riders comfortably.
Weighing 313 and 315 lb respectively, the Anthem and Outset feature lightweight architecture and a low center of gravity, ensuring excellent handling. Both models also include Ryvid Reverse Drive, allowing the motorcycle to move backward at walking speed for ease of maneuvering.
The Ryvid Anthem and Outset are available for order at ryvid.com. The Anthem is offered in five colors, and the Outset in Sector Red or Vapor Grey, with deliveries starting in the summer. Note that riders must have a motorcycle license to operate the Anthem or Outset.
