With the launch of the all-new smart #5, the brand completes a trio of fully electric models within three years. Positioned above the #1 and #3, the #5 introduces a new level of practicality and sophistication to the range, featuring a longer wheelbase and enhanced interior flexibility.
Built on an advanced 800-volt electrical architecture, the #5 combines fast-charging capability—10% to 80% in 18 minutes—with improved energy efficiency. UK orders are now open, with pricing beginning at £39,800.
Performance, Range, and Powertrain Options
The lineup begins with the Pro variant, featuring a 76 kWh LFP battery, panoramic roof, and smart connectivity. From the Pro+ upwards, all models feature a 100 kWh NCM battery, capable of delivering up to 366 miles (WLTP) of range.
For drivers seeking performance and all-terrain capability, the Pulse model introduces dual-motor all-wheel drive, a heat pump, and multiple off-road drive modes.
The BRABUS version sits at the top of the range, boasting 475 kW (637 hp) and all-wheel drive, accelerating from 0–62 mph in 3.8 seconds—making it the most powerful smart ever produced.
Design and Comfort
The #5 reflects smart’s design language “Love, Pure, Unexpected,” with hallmark features such as a panoramic halo roof, frameless doors, and short overhangs. Inside, the cabin offers premium materials, oak trim, and adjustable seating for optimal comfort.
Practicality is a core focus: a 2,900 mm wheelbase, 1,530 litres of cargo capacity, and a 72-litre frunk make the #5 ideal for both urban and family use.
Technology and Connectivity
Powered by an AMD V2000 chipset, the #5 integrates a 25.6-inch AR head-up display, 13-inch OLED central screens, and AI-enhanced voice control featuring the avatar Leo. The smart OS 2.0 system supports video streaming, real-time EV routing, and over-the-air updates.
Audio is delivered through a 20-speaker Sennheiser Signature Sound System with 1,190W output and Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 capability, paired with ambient lighting for a fully immersive in-cabin experience.
Safety and Engineering
The #5’s steel-aluminium hybrid structure enhances rigidity while reducing weight. Safety features include V-shaped curtain airbags, seat-integrated belts, and advanced ADAS systems with Adaptive Cruise Control, Highway Assist, and Smart Pilot Assist.
