Schneider Electric and The Mobility House Solutions have announced a partnership to accelerate the deployment of smart charging and energy solutions for electric vehicle (EV) fleets. This collaboration combines Schneider Electric’s expertise in energy management with The Mobility House’s innovative ChargePilot® system, aiming to support fleet electrification, optimize energy use, and lower costs for operators.

Key Highlights

  • Focus on Fleet Electrification: Targeting municipal buses, trucks, and logistics fleets to reduce CO2 emissions and improve sustainability.
  • Integrated Smart Charging Solutions: Combines load management and energy services to optimize infrastructure investments and reduce energy costs.
  • Proven Success: Projects like the Brookville Smart Energy Bus Depot demonstrate real-world applications and benefits.
  • Global Impact: Aims to address grid congestion and support energy transition efforts worldwide.

Driving Fleet Electrification for a Greener Future

This collaboration focuses on fleet electrification as a critical step toward decarbonizing transportation. With private cars, trucks, and buses contributing significantly to global CO2 emissions, Schneider Electric and The Mobility House aim to enable a smoother transition to sustainable mobility. Their solutions address not only the immediate needs of charging infrastructure but also long-term energy management challenges.

By combining Schneider Electric’s global reach and energy management expertise with The Mobility House’s ChargePilot® system, the partnership offers an integrated, hardware-neutral approach. Customers can expect:

  • Optimized capital expenditures (CAPEX) for quicker return on investment.
  • Enhanced energy efficiency for charging depots.
  • Scalable solutions that adapt to growing electrification demands.

Proven Applications in Action

The Brookville Smart Energy Bus Depot in Montgomery County, Maryland, showcases the partnership’s capabilities. Featuring a 6.5 MW microgrid with solar canopies, battery storage, and electric bus chargers, the project highlights significant savings in grid connection and energy costs. The Mobility House’s ChargePilot® ensures efficient energy distribution, allowing the depot to maintain operations even during outages.

Beyond this, The Mobility House has integrated its smart charging solutions into North American Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) systems through partnerships with AlphaStruxure and Schneider Electric. These projects provide comprehensive solutions with no upfront costs, billed instead on a per-kilowatt-hour basis.

A Joint Vision for Decarbonization

Asha Devasia, SVP of Power Systems Strategy at Schneider Electric, stated, “We are pleased to partner with The Mobility House, who share our vision of a decarbonized future for mobility. Together, we are poised to speed up the deployment of important technologies for fleet electrification.”

Heiko Bayer, Managing Director at The Mobility House Solutions, emphasized the cost benefits: “Customers can save up to 70 percent in grid connection costs and another 20-50 percent in energy costs.”

This partnership is set to play a pivotal role in advancing sustainable transportation globally. By merging their strengths, Schneider Electric and The Mobility House are creating innovative, scalable solutions for the growing demand for EV fleet electrification.
