Tritium Now Accepting Orders For Its First NEVI-Compliant Product

What’s Happening: Tritium DCFC Limited (Tritium), a leading manufacturer of direct current fast chargers for electric vehicles, has announced that it is now accepting orders for its first product offering for the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program. The charging system includes four 150 kW PKM150 charging stations and two power rectifiers.

Why It Matters: The NEVI program, established by President Biden in 2021, provides $5 billion in funding over five years to build a coast-to-coast network of qualifying DC fast chargers. With Ohio, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Alaska, and Hawaii already allocating their first rounds of NEVI funding, Tritium’s NEVI-compliant product will help to fulfill the demand for reliable and accessible fast charging across the country.

Key Points:

  • The NEVI-compliant charging system is designed to meet NEVI program requirements, demonstrating Tritium’s commitment to advancing the U.S. e-mobility transition and helping charging site operators meet the NEVI program’s 97% uptime requirement.
  • The Federal Highway Administration has approved the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Deployment Plans for all 50 states, Washington DC, and Puerto Rico, granting them access to FY22 and FY23 NEVI funding.
  • Tritium’s first NEVI product is expected to achieve the FHWA’s Build America, Buy America Act waiver milestones.
  • The charging system delivers 150 kW of power to four EVs simultaneously through a reliable and modular fast charger system, providing high site reliability and uptime.
  • Tritium expects to expand its offerings for the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law programs, including the NEVI program and Charging and Fueling Infrastructure discretionary grant program, as the company’s new products enter the market.

Bottom Line: Tritium’s first NEVI-compliant product marks a milestone in the advancement of the e-mobility transition in the United States. As a leading provider of innovative and effective product solutions, Tritium is poised to remain an industry leader in providing reliable and accessible fast charging to drivers across the country.
