VinFast is reintroducing its VF 8 Eco electric SUV to US buyers with a starting MSRP of $39,900 and an EPA-estimated range of 256 miles, packaged alongside 0% APR financing for up to 84 months and retail bonus incentives. The Vietnamese automaker is positioning the Pininfarina-designed SUV as an entry point for drivers transitioning from internal combustion vehicles. The announcement contains no new technical changes to the vehicle itself.
Highlights
- VF 8 Eco MSRP set at $39,900; VF 8 Plus opens at $44,900
- EPA-estimated range of 256 miles on the Eco trim
- Dual-motor AWD powertrain rated at 349 horsepower (260 kW)
- Current incentives include 0% APR for up to 84 months plus retail bonuses
Pricing and Incentives
The $39,900 Eco starting figure sits well below the $47,200 base price Kelley Blue Book listed for the 2025 VF 8 earlier this year, suggesting the announced MSRP reflects a price reduction or a promotional adjustment rather than a new model-year pricing structure. VinFast did not characterize the figure as a discount in its release.
The Plus variant opens at $44,900 and pairs a more powerful 402-horsepower dual-motor configuration with a lower 235-mile EPA-estimated range. Both trims remain covered by VinFast’s 10-year battery warranty for US customers.
Powertrain and Range
The VF 8 Eco uses a dual-motor all-wheel-drive layout producing 349 horsepower and drawing from an 87.7 kWh battery pack. Its 256-mile EPA rating places it near the lower end of the midsize electric SUV segment, where rivals including the Chevrolet Equinox EV, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and Ford Mustang Mach-E now routinely exceed 300 miles at comparable price points.
VinFast cites DC fast-charging capability that supports a 10% to 70% top-up in roughly 31 minutes, consistent with figures the company has published since the model’s US launch in 2023.

Design and Cabin
Exterior design remains the work of Italian studio Pininfarina, with the Eco retaining the V-shaped LED light signature used across the current VinFast lineup. The SUV rides on a 2,950 mm wheelbase and seats five.
Inside, a 15.6-inch central touchscreen replaces a conventional instrument cluster and is supplemented by a head-up display — an interior layout similar to the approach used in Tesla’s Model 3 and Model Y. Standard equipment also includes the Combi 1.0 cabin air filtration system and multi-directional power seats.
Market Context
VinFast has leaned on Pininfarina styling, long warranty coverage, and aggressive financing to offset a range disadvantage against better-established competitors in the US. The company has been steadily broadening its US dealer network beyond California and is pursuing vertical integration through its VinMetal green-steel subsidiary, which is intended to supply future VinFast production lines.
