Volkswagen has announced the resumption of sales for its ID.4 electric vehicles, following the availability of new parts to address a recent recall issue. Existing vehicles in dealer stock can now be sold, and affected components in customer vehicles can be replaced. Production at Volkswagen’s Chattanooga, TN, factory is also set to restart soon.

Volkswagen’s production restart marks a significant step toward restoring the ID.4’s position as one of the top-selling electric vehicles in the U.S. and Canada. The company’s focus on affordability and sustainability remains central to its strategy.
“With the new parts now available, we’re not only addressing the recall promptly but also ensuring that the ID.4 remains an accessible and desirable choice for EV buyers,” said a Volkswagen spokesperson.
To further encourage adoption, Volkswagen’s new lease offers will make the ID.4 one of the most competitively priced electric compact SUVs on the market.
