Key Highlights

  • Unmodified Performance: The test used a standard ID.7 Pro S with an 86-kWh battery and no technical modifications.
  • Record-Breaking Efficiency: The vehicle consumed just 9.2 kWh/100 km, comparable to 1 liter per 100 km in diesel equivalent.
  • Aerodynamic Excellence: With a drag coefficient of 0.23, the ID.7 Pro S is one of the most aerodynamic vehicles in its class.
  • Quick Charging Capability: A DC charging capacity of up to 200 kW allows the vehicle to gain 244 kilometers of range in just 10 minutes.
  • Performance Metrics: The vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.6 seconds with a maximum torque of 545 Nm.
Volkswagen ID.7 Sets Efficiency Milestone

Volkswagen conducted the efficiency test in December 2024 at the Nardò Technical Center in Italy. During the test, professional drivers from Volkswagen’s Driving Experience team maintained an average speed of 29 km/h, reflecting typical urban traffic conditions. The mild ambient temperatures of 5 to 15 degrees Celsius further contributed to optimized energy consumption.

The ID.7 Pro S, equipped with the innovative APP550 drive system, is designed for both performance and efficiency. Its rear-axle electric motor ensures optimal energy use while delivering a sporty driving experience. Additionally, its spacious interior and high comfort level make it a top choice for families and long-distance drivers.

Martin Sander, Volkswagen Board Member for Sales, Marketing, and After Sales, emphasized the vehicle’s market success: “We are seeing a positive trend in incoming orders in Europe and are currently selling more ID.7 models than Passat.”

Volkswagen’s achievement underscores the advancing capabilities of electric vehicles in providing sustainable, long-range transportation solutions suitable for a variety of lifestyles.
