Volvo has introduced the ES90, a fully electric vehicle that redefines automotive categories by blending the elegance of a saloon, the versatility of a fastback, and the spaciousness of an SUV. This innovative car offers advanced technology, including next-generation core computers and 800V charging for faster, longer-range performance. With a focus on safety, comfort, and Scandinavian design, the ES90 is now available for order in select markets, marking a significant step in Volvo’s journey toward full electrification. The Volvo ES90 stands out with its confident stance and distinctive profile, featuring a slightly raised ride height for better visibility and a flowing roofline that enhances aerodynamics. This design achieves a remarkable drag coefficient of 0.25, the lowest in Volvo’s history, boosting efficiency and extending driving range. The car’s exterior is complemented by modern Thor’s Hammer headlights and C-shaped LED rear lamps, offering a unique light sequence that enhances its premium appeal. Customers can personalize it with seven exterior colors and wheel options ranging from 20 to 22 inches.
Inside, the ES90 prioritizes comfort and functionality. Its long 3.1-meter wheelbase provides generous legroom, while authentic materials and a panoramic roof with 99.9% UV protection elevate the cabin experience. An advanced air purifier removes up to 95% of PM 2.5 particulates, ensuring a healthy environment. The top-tier Bowers & Wilkins sound system, with 25 speakers and Dolby Atmos®, delivers immersive audio, enhanced by the cabin’s low noise levels—one of Volvo’s quietest ever.
Safety is a cornerstone of the ES90, featuring Volvo’s Safe Space Technology. This includes a lidar sensor, five radars, seven cameras, and a driver-understanding system to prevent accidents. Additional features like occupant sensing ensure no one is left behind. The car’s 800V technology supports fast charging, adding 300 kilometers of range in just 10 minutes at 350kW stations, with a total range of up to 700 kilometers (WLTP). Built on the SPA2 architecture, the ES90 evolves over time via over-the-air updates, improving performance and safety throughout its lifecycle.
