Volvo has introduced a Black Edition variant of its all-electric EX30 compact SUV, now available for order in the UK. The styling package adds high gloss black exterior accents and an exclusive interior colorway to the automaker’s popular entry-level electric vehicle, with pricing starting at £40,060 in Single Motor Plus trim.
Highlights
- The EX30 Black Edition features high gloss black 19-inch wheels, tinted rear windows, and black-finished exterior badges across a single available Onyx Black paint option with an exclusive Indigo interior using upcycled denim trim.
- Pricing starts at £40,060 in Single Motor Plus configuration, with availability across Single Motor Extended Range and Twin Motor Performance powertrains in Plus and Ultra trim levels.
- The EX30 delivers up to 295.2 miles of combined range in Single Motor Extended Range form, with 0-62 mph acceleration in 5.3 seconds and a standard heat pump.
- The EX30 ranked as the UK’s tenth best-selling battery electric vehicle in 2025, and the Black Edition expands the styling treatment to six models in Volvo’s lineup.

Exterior and Interior Design Details
The Black Edition package centers on a coordinated high gloss black treatment applied to several exterior elements. The 19-inch wheels, front grille strikethrough, iron mark, rear Volvo script, and model name badge all receive the gloss black finish. A color-coordinated roof spoiler and door mirror covers complete the exterior changes, paired with tinted rear windows.
A single exterior color is available: Onyx Black metallic. Inside, the exclusive Indigo colorway features deep blue tones with studio-inspired textile materials and upcycled denim trim unique to the Black Edition.
Powertrain and Range Specifications
The EX30 Black Edition is offered in two powertrain configurations:
- Single Motor Extended Range — up to 295.2 miles combined range, 0-62 mph in 5.3 seconds
- Twin Motor Performance — all-wheel-drive configuration
A heat pump comes standard to optimize range between charges. Both powertrains are available in Plus and Ultra trim levels.

Technology and Safety Equipment
Standard equipment on the Black Edition includes Volvo’s advanced sensing suite:

- Adaptive cruise control
- Air quality measurement and remote cabin air pre-cleaning
- 12.3-inch center display

Black Edition Lineup Expansion
Volvo first introduced the Black Edition treatment in 2023 on the XC60. The EX30 becomes the sixth model in the range to receive the package, joining the XC90, XC60, XC40, EX40, and EC40.
“The Black Edition variants of our models have struck a chord with buyers in the past and the EX30 looks really striking with the design additions, giving it even more presence,” said Rob Deane, Commercial Operations Director, Volvo Car UK.
