Volkswagen of America has unveiled that its 2023 ID.4 EV will now support Plug&Charge functionality at Electrify America stations starting early 2024. This feature enhances the all-electric SUV‘s convenience by streamlining the charging process, making it an even more attractive option for eco-conscious consumers.

The 2023 ID.4 offers three trim levels—Standard/Pro, S, and S Plus—available with either a 62 kWh or 82 kWh battery, and the choice between rear-wheel or all-wheel drive. Pricing begins at $38,995 for the 62 kWh ID.4 Standard with an EPA-estimated range of 209 miles, and $43,995 for the 82 kWh ID.4 Pro, boasting a range of 275 miles. The AWD Pro models start at $47,795, offering up to 295 horsepower and a range of 255 miles.

A key selling point for the ID.4 is its included DC fast charging package with Electrify America, offering three years of 30-minute charging sessions. Electrify America, noted for being the largest open DC fast charging network in North America, adds significant value to the ID.4’s ownership experience by providing convenient access to over 900 stations and more than 4,000 chargers across the continent.

The integration of Plug&Charge simplifies the charging process by allowing ID.4 owners to start charging their vehicles at an Electrify America station by simply plugging in, without the need for additional steps. This feature, coupled with the vehicle’s charging speed—up to 170-kW for Pro models—ensures efficient use of the network’s capabilities.

Externally, the ID.4 is available in eight colors, with higher trims featuring unique design elements such as illuminated logos, a panoramic glass roof, and power folding mirrors. Internally, the vehicle boasts a 12-inch infotainment display, heated front seats, and optional tri-zone climate control, with ambient lighting that adds to the cabin’s premium feel.

Volkswagen has equipped the ID.4 with comprehensive driver assistance technology, including Forward Collision Warning, Active Blind Spot Monitor, and the advanced IQ.DRIVE suite, ensuring a safe and comfortable driving experience.
