Wallbox, a global leader in electric vehicle (EV) charging and energy management solutions, has announced a nationwide retail partnership with Costco. Starting in July, Wallbox’s flagship EV charger, Pulsar Plus, will be purchasable at Costco stores across the United States and via the Costco.com platform. This marks the most widespread EV charging deployment for Costco to date.
Why It Matters
This collaboration underscores a shared commitment between Wallbox and Costco to amplify the adoption of EV charging solutions, catering to the growing demand for accessible, home-based EV chargers. Brett Graessle, VP of Partnerships and Business Development for Wallbox, emphasized the partnership’s potential to reach a broader consumer audience, particularly among Costco’s extensive membership base.
Costco will be retailing Wallbox’s Pulsar Plus 40 Amp, an ENERGY STAR®-certified charger equipped with innovative features such as flexible amperage settings, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, charge scheduling, and voice control through Amazon Alexa and Google Home. The charger also supports unique energy management features, including Power Boost, Power Sharing, and Eco-Smart, all designed to save time, money, and reduce energy consumption. Power Boost enables maximum speed charging without exceeding home power limits, Power Sharing permits concurrent charging of multiple EVs, and Eco-Smart facilitates eco-friendly charging with solar energy.
Assembled in the U.S., Wallbox products are eligible for federal and local state subsidy and rebate programs, promoting affordability. This strategic partnership not only broadens Wallbox’s distribution reach but also provides Costco members with access to superior EV charging solutions, revolutionizing EV charging convenience on a nationwide scale.
