IONNA, the joint venture between eight global automakers, has officially transitioned from public beta to full-scale national release. Founded by BMW, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz, Stellantis, and Toyota, IONNA is set to revolutionize EV charging infrastructure across the U.S. Following a successful testing phase, the company has contracted over 100 sites and plans to deploy more than 1,000 charging bays by the end of 2025.

Scaling a National EV Charging Network
Since launching, IONNA has conducted over 4,400 charging sessions on 80+ vehicle models, delivering nearly 63,000 kWh of energy. Through rigorous testing, the company has refined its hardware, software, and user experience to ensure a seamless national rollout.
With a goal of 30,000 charging bays by 2030, IONNA is committed to scaling EV infrastructure, supporting American manufacturing, and creating new jobs in the clean energy sector. AI-Driven Innovation & Enhanced Driver Experience
Starting in Q1 2025, IONNA will introduce AI-powered, checkout-free retail spaces at select charging locations. Through a collaboration with Amazon, these “Just Walk Out” stores will allow drivers to grab refreshments and essentials 24/7 without waiting in line.
Additionally, IONNA’s Plug & Charge technology will expand, allowing seamless vehicle integration, AI-driven smart reservations, and in-car payments—setting a new standard for charging convenience in the U.S.
