Windrose and Xos Announce Fleet Charging Solution

Windrose and Xos have partnered to provide a groundbreaking mobile charging solution, the Xos Hub, accelerating the adoption of Class 8 electric truck fleets by eliminating infrastructure delays.

Windrose, a manufacturer of long-range electric Class 8 trucks, has announced a strategic partnership with Xos, a leading provider of mobile charging solutions. This collaboration will deliver powerful and scalable charging access to fleet operators across the United States and other international markets, aiming to accelerate the transition to zero-emission freight.

Key Highlights

  • Windrose is partnering with Xos to provide its fleet customers with access to the Xos Hub mobile charging solution.
  • This partnership removes major barriers to fleet electrification by allowing charging deployment in days instead of years, bypassing traditional infrastructure delays.
  • The newest generation of the Xos Hub enables true dual-shift operations for electric trucks for the first time.
  • The collaboration will begin in the United States before expanding to other global markets, including Canada, Mexico, and Australia.

A Partnership to Accelerate Electrification

The collaboration between Windrose and Xos addresses one of the most significant challenges facing fleet operators looking to electrify: the lack of readily available charging infrastructure. By pairing Windrose’s advanced trucks with Xos’s mobile charging hardware, the partnership provides a turnkey ecosystem for electrified freight that fleets can implement immediately.

“Together with Windrose, we’re removing the single biggest barrier to fleet electrification: infrastructure delays,” said Dakota Semler, CEO of Xos. “This partnership enables large fleets to get trucks on the road and charging in a matter of days, not years.”

Wen Han, founder and CEO of Windrose Technology, emphasized the importance of accessible charging. “At Windrose, we are building the most advanced Class 8 electric trucks in the market. But technology alone isn’t enough,” he said. “Charging access is critical. Xos brings the hardware and logistics to ensure our customers can operate at full scale on day one.”

Advanced Mobile Charging Technology

Windrose fleet customers will gain access to the latest generation of the Xos Hub, an ultra-flexible, off-grid charging solution. The Hub is engineered to be deployed in a matter of hours, as it does not require trenching, switchgear, permits, or a direct utility interconnection.

The unit features a 630 kilowatt-hour onboard battery and integrated DC fast chargers capable of delivering up to 150 kilowatts per port, or 300 kilowatts when operating in series. This powerful capability allows drivers to return mid-day, recharge their trucks quickly, and get back on the road for a second full shift. The Xos Hub is already helping major fleets across North America scale faster, reduce capital expenses, and avoid high peak demand charges associated with traditional infrastructure.

Global Reach and Turnkey Solution

Windrose manufactures one of the lightest Class 8 electric trucks in the world, setting a new industry benchmark with up to 420 miles of loaded range, a high-efficiency drivetrain, and a lightweight chassis. The truck is engineered for global deployment across six key markets: North America, Europe, South America, Oceania, Asia, and the Middle East.

This partnership combines Windrose’s globally scalable truck platform with Xos’s cutting-edge mobile charging infrastructure. The result is a comprehensive solution that helps accelerate zero-emission freight adoption at an unprecedented pace, providing fleets with the technology and support needed for a seamless transition.
