Windrose Technology and Terawatt Infrastructure are enhancing their strategic partnership through successful high-power charging demonstrations and deeper software integration. This collaboration aims to accelerate the adoption of commercial electric vehicle (EV) fleets by providing robust and efficient charging solutions.

Key Highlights:

  • Successful High-Power Charging: Windrose demonstrated its dual gun charging capability, delivering over 650 kW at Terawatt’s Rancho Dominguez site.
  • Rapid Charging: The tests achieved a 240-mile range charge in approximately 40 minutes, showcasing readiness for high-utilization commercial electric fleets.
  • Software Integration: The companies are integrating Windrose’s vehicle systems with Terawatt’s site and energy management platforms for intelligent charging and improved total cost of ownership (TCO).
  • Joint Customer Programs: Collaborative efforts include local and long-haul deployments, particularly along Terawatt’s I-10 corridor.
  • Future Deployments: Additional joint testing and customer pilots are planned through the summer, with accelerated deployments expected in late 2025.

The recent interoperability tests at Terawatt’s flagship facility in Rancho Dominguez, California, marked a significant milestone. Windrose successfully utilized two 350kW chargers from Delta Electronics simultaneously, proving the effectiveness of its dual gun charging system. This capability is crucial for the next generation of commercial electric fleets that require minimal downtime.

Beyond the hardware advancements, the partnership is focusing on deeper software integration. By connecting Windrose’s vehicle systems with Terawatt’s comprehensive site and energy management platforms, the collaboration seeks to enable smarter charging processes, increase operational uptime, and ultimately reduce the TCO for fleet operators managing large-scale electric vehicle operations.

Wen Han, founder, chairman, and CEO of Windrose Technology, stated, “This partnership is about more than performance metrics—it’s about delivering real-world solutions to the fleets driving the energy transition.” He emphasized that aligning vehicle and infrastructure platforms with Terawatt will scale efficiently and offer immediate customer value.

Echoing this sentiment, Neha Palmer, CEO of Terawatt, remarked on Windrose’s next-generation trucks. “By combining their next-generation trucks with our infrastructure, and sites designed for quick charging with the least disruption to operations, including pull-through stalls that accommodate trailers, we are unlocking new electric lanes in southern California and beyond,” she said. Palmer highlighted that deeper collaboration across power, software, and site design will lead to better customer service.

In conjunction with these technical achievements, Windrose and Terawatt are developing joint customer programs to support the swift electrification of heavy-duty fleets across the United States. These initiatives include local customer deployments at Terawatt’s existing charging hubs in Southern California and future long-haul deployments at sites planned along Terawatt’s I-10 corridor, connecting Los Angeles, California, and El Paso, Texas.

Further joint testing and customer pilot programs are scheduled throughout the summer, with a significant acceleration in deployments anticipated for late 2025.

Windrose Technology, established in 2022 and headquartered in Belgium, focuses on developing zero-emission long-haul trucks. Its electric Class 8 truck, featuring over 700kWh of battery capacity and a range of over 420 miles fully loaded, is reportedly deployed on four continents. Terawatt Infrastructure specializes in providing reliable charging infrastructure, owning, developing, and operating charging sites to support commercial EV transport in the U.S.
