XPENG Motors has announced a major global upgrade of its in-car operating system, Tianji XOS 5.2, alongside a nationwide rollout of its unlimited XNGP. This upgrade marks a significant advancement in AI technology and smart driving capabilities for XPENG vehicles.

AI-Powered OTA Upgrades
“AI has started leading new trends and technological waves post-2023, bringing four new directions: chips, large models, autonomous driving, and robotics. Among the new leading enterprises riding this AI wave is XPENG,” said He Xiaopeng, Chairman and CEO.
In July, XPENG initiated the beta test of Tianji XOS 5.2 for eligible car owners in China and globally. XPENG’s OTA update frequency is industry-leading, allowing global XPENG owners to upgrade their in-car OS system without visiting XPENG stores or dealer shops. This year, XPENG accelerated its Go Global 2.0 strategy, entering 30 countries and regions, including Europe, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, Africa, and Latin America.
Tianji XOS 5.2 Features
Tianji XOS 5.2, the first system to apply AI technology to both smart cockpits and smart driving, offers 484 feature upgrades. These include smart driving, ecosystem connectivity, and smart cockpit enhancements. The system’s end-to-end large models significantly shorten the evolution cycle of XPENG’s intelligent driving technology.
Unlimited XNGP Rollout
He Xiaopeng announced the comprehensive upgrade of unlimited XNGP nationwide, proposing three standards for “nationwide usability”: unlimited cities, routes, and road conditions. This includes field testing in over 2,595 cities and cumulative testing mileage exceeding 7.56 million km.
XPENG’s intelligent driving technology is in the initial stage of “nationwide usability” and is expected to achieve the second stage by the fourth quarter of 2024. By the end of 2025, the frequency of user safety interventions and efficiency interventions will be significantly reduced.
Future Innovations
XPENG continues its exploration for innovation, planning to launch the S5 liquid-cooled ultra-fast charging station in the third quarter of 2024. This station will provide a faster, more intelligent, and safer charging experience.
Starting August 1, the first batch of XPENG Mona M03 smart pure electric coupe display cars will arrive at stores in over 100 cities nationwide.
