XPENG, a leading Chinese smart electric vehicle (EV) company, has announced new dealer partnerships across the UAE, Egypt, Azerbaijan, Jordan, and Lebanon. This expansion aims to introduce XPENG’s innovative EVs to these regions through branded showrooms and comprehensive customer support.
In a significant move towards globalization, XPENG has partnered with local dealers to ensure a premium distribution, sales, and service network. This strategic approach underscores the company’s commitment to becoming a dominant force in the global EV market. The partnerships are pivotal for XPENG, marking its entrance into several key markets and setting the stage for future growth.
XPENG Motors, listed on NYSE and HKEX, has unveiled a long-term strategic partnership with Ali&Sons in the UAE. This collaboration is part of a broader initiative to engage with strategic markets through partnerships, including:
- Egypt: RAYA
- Azerbaijan: SR Group
- Jordan: T Gargour and Fils
- Lebanon: Gargour Asia SAL
These alliances will enable XPENG to offer local consumers its latest smart EV models, including the G6 SUV and G9 SUV, with the latter expected to be available in the UAE from Q3 2024. Both models are built on XPENG’s Smart Electric Platform Architecture (SEPA) 2.0, highlighting the company’s focus on innovation and cost efficiency.
Alex Tang, GM of International Markets at XPENG, emphasized the strategic importance of these new markets, noting their potential as centers for EV growth. “The new markets we are announcing today are recognized globally as the nucleus for EV growth, which makes this the natural and forward-thinking next step in our expansion into the EMEA market,” Tang stated.
This expansion follows the successful delivery of the P7 sedan and G9 SUV in Israel and Azerbaijan in late 2023, with plans to begin deliveries in Jordan, Lebanon, and Egypt throughout 2024. The P7, in particular, has seen remarkable success, with over 100,000 units sold globally within two years of its launch.
The entry into the UAE, Azerbaijan, and Egypt represents significant milestones for XPENG, marking its first foray into the Gulf region, Central Asia, and Africa, respectively. The company also has plans to extend its reach into European markets, including Germany, the UK, Italy, and France, within the same timeframe.
