2026 Toyota bZ Woodland SUV Delivers 375 HP

The 2026 Toyota bZ Woodland delivers 375 hp, 281 miles of range, and standard AWD with X-MODE in a midsize electric SUV arriving at dealerships in March.

Toyota is preparing to launch its most capable battery-electric SUV to date. The 2026 bZ Woodland is expected to reach U.S. dealerships in March. It joins the automaker’s expanding BEV lineup as a midsize, dual-motor SUV built on the e-TNGA platform.

Highlights

  • 375-hp dual-motor AWD powertrain produces a 0-60 mph time of 4.4 seconds with standard X-MODE® and Grip Control
  • EPA-estimated range of 281 miles from a 74.7-kWh lithium-ion battery (260 miles with optional all-terrain tires)
  • DC fast charging via NACS port enables 10% to 80% charge in approximately 30 minutes
  • Two trim levels available — bZ Woodland and bZ Woodland Premium — with 8.4 inches of ground clearance and 3,500-pound towing capacity

Powertrain and Off-Road Capability

The bZ Woodland uses a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive system with electric motors at the front and rear eAxles. Combined net system output reaches 375 hp. As a result, Toyota estimates a 0-60 mph sprint of 4.4 seconds.

Standard X-MODE® optimizes brake control and power delivery for improved traction. Additionally, the system includes Grip Control, which modulates motor output at low speeds to maintain stability on varied surfaces.

A floor-mounted battery pack lowers the center of gravity. Meanwhile, a battery cross-framing structure adds rigidity for more composed handling.

Battery and Charging Specifications

The bZ Woodland carries a 74.7-kWh lithium-ion battery pack. It features a North American Charging System (NACS) port compatible with Level 3 DC fast charging. Under ideal conditions, the system charges from 10% to 80% in roughly 30 minutes.

A Battery Pre-conditioning feature brings the pack to optimal temperature before DC fast charging. This function activates manually or automatically when navigation is set to a fast-charging station (requires active Drive Connect trial or subscription).

The vehicle also supports Plug & Charge capability for automatic authentication at select charging networks. Additional charging specs include:

  • 11-kW onboard charger for Level 1 and Level 2 AC charging
  • Standard dual-voltage 120V/240V home charger included
  • Steering wheel paddle shifters for adjustable regenerative braking
  • Remote charging controls via the Toyota app (with Remote Connect trial or subscription)

Exterior Design and Cargo Space

The bZ Woodland distinguishes itself from the standard bZ with several design changes. It adds black overfenders, nearly six inches of additional length, and just under one inch of extra rear height.

Cargo capacity reaches 74.3 cubic feet with the second row folded flat. That compares to 67.1 cubic feet in the standard bZ. Standard roof rails provide mounting points for accessories. In addition, 18-inch aluminum wheels with aero covers are fitted at all four corners, and optional all-terrain tires are available on both trims.

Six exterior colors are offered: Stepping Stone (new), Halo, Steel, Pavement, Raven Black, and Trueno Blue. Interior options include Stone Brown and Black.

Trim Levels and Features

The bZ Woodland is offered in two grades. Both share the 375-hp AWD powertrain and 281-mile EPA-estimated range.

Connected Technology

All models feature the 14-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia system developed by Toyota’s Texas-based software teams. The system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual Bluetooth connectivity, and HD Radio.

Toyota Connected Services trials are also included. Drive Connect provides Cloud Navigation, Intelligent Assistant voice control, and Destination Assist with 24/7 live agent support. Safety Connect offers emergency assistance, automatic collision notification, and stolen vehicle locator with a five-year minimum trial.

Safety and Driver Assistance

The bZ Woodland comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, which combines millimeter-wave radar and a monocular camera. The suite includes:

  • Pre-Collision System with pedestrian, bicyclist, and motorcyclist detection
  • Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control with vehicle-to-vehicle distance management
  • Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist

Battery Safety and Warranty

Toyota employs redundant monitoring of battery voltage, current, and temperature. A high-resistance coolant circulation system helps prevent thermal events during high-load conditions.

The warranty covers 36 months/36,000 miles for the basic vehicle. Powertrain coverage extends to 60 months/60,000 miles. EV driving components, including the traction battery, are covered for 8 years or 100,000 miles. ToyotaCare provides factory-scheduled maintenance for two years or 25,000 miles, along with three years of Roadside Assistance.
