ABF Freight, a prominent less-than-truckload carrier under the ArcBest umbrella, is enhancing its fleet of electric terminal trucks manufactured by Orange EV. The company began this initiative with an initial deployment of four trucks in June 2022 and has since scaled up to nine. Looking ahead, ABF Freight has acquired five more trucks slated for deployment in 2025. This move reflects ABF Freight’s dedication to sustainable practices and its trust in the dependable, high-performing electric vehicles provided by Orange EV.

Key Highlights:

  • Continued Investment: ABF Freight is bolstering its fleet with Orange EV terminal trucks, emphasizing its focus on eco-friendly operations.
  • Operational Excellence: These electric trucks meet ABF Freight’s rigorous standards for safety, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Environmental Impact: The adoption of additional electric vehicles strengthens ABF Freight’s efforts toward environmental responsibility while upholding top-tier service.

Electric terminal trucks bring significant benefits compared to their diesel counterparts. They emit zero emissions, substantially lowering the environmental footprint of logistics activities. Furthermore, their reduced maintenance needs translate to cost savings, and their quieter operation enhances the workplace for drivers and employees. This shift to electric vehicles aligns with broader industry trends toward greener transportation solutions.

The partnership between ABF Freight and Orange EV exemplifies how logistics firms are increasingly turning to electric vehicles to achieve sustainability targets. Orange EV stands out as a top producer of fully electric yard trucks, offering robust and efficient options to major North American fleets. ABF Freight president Matthew Godfrey noted, “The Orange EV terminal trucks meet our operational requirements and expectations for safe, reliable, and affordable service and performance. We’re committed to responsible environmental management, and our investment in EVs aligns with our continuous efforts to enhance efficiency while maintaining exceptional service standards.”
