ADS-TEC Energy’s ChargeBox has been deployed by Alabama Power at its Technology Application Center (TAC) to power its electric vehicle fleet and introduce customers to the advantages of ultra-fast charging technology. The battery-buffered system offers quick EV charging without the need for extensive power grid upgrades.

The ADS-TEC Energy ChargeBox enables ultra-fast charging (up to 320kW) on existing power-limited grids. Unlike traditional direct current (DC) chargers, it does not require significant construction or electrical infrastructure upgrades, making it ideal for businesses looking to implement ultra-fast EV charging quickly and economically. By utilizing battery-buffered technology, this system offers an innovative solution for scalable charging infrastructure.
With EV adoption accelerating across Alabama, the state is investing millions to expand its charging station infrastructure. According to the Department of Energy, in 2023, electric vehicle registrations in Alabama doubled in just two months, illustrating strong growth and the increasing need for fast, efficient charging options.
