The Alfa Romeo Tonale has reached a significant milestone, with the 100,000th unit rolling off the production line at the Stellantis “Giambattista Vico” plant in Pomigliano d’Arco, Naples. This achievement underscores the Tonale’s role as a global ambassador for Alfa Romeo, blending Italian design, electrified performance, and cutting-edge technology. Launched in 2022, the Tonale marks Alfa Romeo’s entry into electrification while preserving its sporty heritage. The milestone vehicle, a Sprint version in Rosso Alfa, is destined for the Italian market, highlighting the model’s appeal in its home country.

The range includes three trims—Sprint, Veloce, and the exclusive Intensa—offering engines like the 280-hp plug-in hybrid Q4 and a 130-hp turbo diesel. The Intensa trim stands out with 20-inch alloy wheels, black Alcantara seats, and a 470-W Harman Kardon audio system.
Produced at the Pomigliano d’Arco plant, a facility recognized with the Automotive Lean Production award, the Tonale benefits from advanced manufacturing and a commitment to sustainability. The plant, operational since 1972, has produced 5 million cars and underwent a major refurbishment in 2021 to support hybrid vehicle production.
The Tonale’s global success is evident in its numerous accolades. It was named “Europe Car 2023” by UIGA, “New Car of the Year 2023” by Quattroruote, and excelled in Germany as the best import vehicle in the “Compact/Off-Road SUV” category at the Best Cars 2025 awards.
