Alpine's 70th anniversary video unveils the A110 R Ultime and hints at a third-generation A110 reveal in early 2026, while highlighting the brand's electric motorsport ambitions.

Alpine concluded its 70th anniversary celebrations with a video connecting the brand’s motorsport heritage to its electric future. The film features Alpine Cars CEO Philippe Krief unveiling the A110 R Ultime alongside appearances from BWT Alpine Formula One driver Pierre Gasly and former French football star Zinedine Zidane.

  • The A110 R Ultime represents the final evolution of the second-generation A110

A110 R Ultime Caps Second Generation

The A110 R Ultime takes center stage as the culmination of the second-generation A110 platform. Krief described the model as a “grand finale” for the current architecture.

“With the Alpine A110 R Ultime, we wanted to create a grand finale, worthy of the second generation A110,” said Krief. He added that Alpine would share “really exciting news” about the next-generation A110 within the first six months of 2026.

Gasly Eyes Electric Rally Competition

Gasly discussed his expectations for road cars and his interest in expanding beyond Formula One into rally driving.

“When I drive a road car, my expectations are focused on comfort. But as I’m a racing driver, I want to feel similar sensations to racing. I want precision as well as a car that looks good,” Gasly said.

The F1 driver confirmed he has placed an order for the upcoming Alpine A390. He also expressed interest in competing with an electric rally car such as the Alpine A290 Rallye.

A290 Rallye Developed at Hypertech Alpine

The A290 Rallye was developed at Alpine’s Hypertech engineering center in Viry-Châtillon, France. The electric rally car draws comparisons to the R5 Alpine Group 2 rally car that competed during the 1970s.

Axel Plasse, VP of Hypertech Alpine, appeared in the anniversary video to discuss his enthusiasm for the A290 Rallye and Alpine’s role in the future of electric motorsport.
