The China-exclusive sister brand AUDI has unveiled the exterior design of its second production model, the E7X. Developed through a cooperation project between Audi and SAIC, this fully electric premium SUV is designed specifically for the Chinese market. It combines Audi’s engineering heritage with the digital innovations of the local ecosystem, aiming to meet the demands of tech-savvy consumers.
Highlights
- Public Debut: The E7X will premiere at the Auto China 2026 motor show in Beijing.
- Platform: Built on the Advanced Digitized Platform co-developed with SAIC.
- Performance: Offers powertrain variants with system outputs of 300 kW and 500 kW.
- Dimensions: A substantial footprint with a length of 5,049 mm and a wheelbase of 3,060 mm.

Exterior Design and Dimensions
The AUDI E7X translates the design language of the earlier AUDI E SUV concept into a production vehicle. The exterior features a monolithic, clean surface design characterized by an upright front and digital Matrix LED headlights arranged vertically within a black wraparound loop. Short overhangs and powerfully sculpted wheel arches emphasize the vehicle’s dynamic stance, balancing a spacious interior with a prestigious appearance.
Key vehicle dimensions include:
- Length: 5,049 mm
- Width: 2,002 mm
- Height: 1,708 mm
- Wheelbase: 3,060 mm
Powertrain and Performance
The E7X utilizes the Advanced Digitized Platform to deliver high-performance electric mobility. Two distinct powertrain variants will be available at launch to suit different driving requirements. The entry-level configuration provides a system output of 300 kW (approx. 402 hp), likely utilizing a single-motor rear-wheel-drive setup.
The high-performance variant delivers a total system output of 500 kW (approx. 670 hp). This superior output suggests a dual-motor all-wheel-drive configuration, ensuring the driving dynamics associated with the Audi DNA are maintained. While specific battery capacities were not detailed in this release, the platform is engineered for rapid charging and extensive range capabilities tailored to China’s infrastructure.

Strategic Partnership and Development
The E7X is the second model from the new “AUDI” brand—distinguished by its use of capitalized lettering rather than the traditional four-ring logo. Following the AUDI E5 Sportback, this SUV represents a deepening of the collaboration between Audi and SAIC.
This partnership leverages a joint development structure with teams in both Germany and China. By utilizing the Advanced Digitized Platform, the manufacturers have significantly reduced development timelines. This approach allows for the rapid integration of intelligent connected vehicle (ICV) technologies essential for the Chinese premium segment.
Fermín Soneira, CEO of the Audi and SAIC Cooperation Project, stated: “The AUDI E7X is an SUV without compromises. Its confident stance, sporty proportions and progressive design come together to create a perfect balance of emotion and everyday usability.”
Market Launch
The AUDI E7X is scheduled to make its public debut at the Auto China 2026 motor show in Beijing, which runs from April 24 to May 3, 2026. The vehicle is set for market launch in the first half of 2026.
