Ford has announced updates to the Mustang Mach-E electric SUV across Europe, including a new GT California Special edition. The refresh brings extended range on Premium models, standard Clear Exit Assist safety technology, and two new color options. The GT California Special draws design cues from the 1968 Mustang California Special.

- New GT California Special edition debuts with unique exterior styling, Carbonised Grey 20-inch wheels, and a Navy Pier interior exclusive to the model.
- Extended driving range on Premium Extended Range models reaches up to 615 km (RWD) and 555 km (AWD) with new lower rolling resistance tires.
- Clear Exit Assist now standard in the ADAS pack, detecting cyclists and pedestrians to help prevent dooring accidents.
- Two new exterior colors — Race Red and Adriatic Blue-Green — are available across the lineup.
GT California Special Design Details
The GT California Special takes its name from the 1968 original, which was created to recognize California Ford dealers who accounted for a significant share of Mustang sales during the 1960s ford.
Exterior changes include 20-inch Carbonised Grey wheels bearing a GT/CS logo and badges outlined in a new Rave Blue accent color. A bonnet stripe features the California Special wordmark with layered grey, black, and blue sunset-inspired graphics.
Inside, the cabin features performance seats in Navy Pier ActiveX and Miko material with a reflective blue and silver stripe. The center console and steering wheel are also wrapped in the navy ActiveX synthetic material.
“The Mustang Mach-E GT California Special brings the legendary soul of the American West Coast to Europe, giving customers a unique way to enjoy our electric icon,” said Christian Weingaerter, general manager, Passenger Vehicles, Ford Europe. “The GT California Special and latest updates are part of our continuous focus on delivering what Mustang Mach-E customers are asking for, whether through new editions, over-the-air software updates or hardware upgrades.”
Range and Efficiency Improvements
For Premium Extended Range models, Ford has fitted new lower rolling resistance tires. As a result, the RWD variant now achieves up to 615 km of WLTP-rated range, an increase of 15 km. Meanwhile, the AWD version reaches up to 555 km, gaining 5 km over the previous figure.
These figures are based on WLTP testing. Actual range will vary based on temperature, driving behavior, route profile, and battery condition.
Safety and ADAS Updates
Clear Exit Assist is now included as standard equipment in the ADAS pack. The system uses sensors to detect cyclists, scooters, and pedestrians approaching from behind. It warns occupants if a door is about to open into someone’s path.
Additionally, the ADAS pack includes Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control, Pre-Collision Assist, Blind Spot Information System with Cross Traffic Alert, and Evasive Steering Assist.
New Color Options
Ford has added two colors to the Mustang Mach-E palette. Race Red offers a sporty appearance, while Adriatic Blue-Green is a metallic finish with deep hues.
BlueCruise Expansion
The Mustang Mach-E remains Ford’s first European model to offer BlueCruise hands-free highway driving technology. Ford plans to expand BlueCruise availability to select Puma, Puma Gen-E, Ranger PHEV, and Kuga models beginning in summer 2026.
