Bollinger Motors, a manufacturer of commercial electric vehicles (EVs), has announced that its all-electric B4 Class 4 truck has received certification from the California Air Resources Board (CARB). This certification is a critical step, allowing Bollinger Motors to sell its vehicles in CARB-compliant states, which include major markets such as California, Colorado, and New York. These states have adopted strict emissions standards under Section 177 of the Clean Air Act.
The CARB certification also qualifies Bollinger Motors’ B4 truck for additional state incentives, such as California’s HVIP project. When paired with a $40,000 federal rebate from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), these programs can offer up to $100,000 in combined savings for buyers.
Bollinger Motors will begin production of the B4 truck on September 16, 2024, with the first deliveries expected to occur in October. The certification marks a significant achievement for the company as it moves toward full-scale production and the nationwide sale of its electric vehicles.
According to Bryan Chambers, President and COO of Bollinger Motors, “The CARB certification represents an important milestone in our mission to bring a world-class electric vehicle to market.” This accomplishment follows other key milestones for Bollinger, including the recent EPA Certificate of Conformity, several fleet sales, and partnerships with service providers such as Amerit Fleet Solutions.
Bollinger Motors, founded in 2015 and now majority-owned by Mullen Automotive, continues to build momentum as it advances toward the widespread commercialization of its all-electric truck lineup.
