Expanding Sustainable Infrastructure
This project leverages city-owned land to meet the growing demand for EV charging. By developing this infrastructure, the BNYDC is making a firm commitment to renewable energy. The Brooklyn Navy Yard is a unique location for this expansion, hosting over 550 businesses and a daily workforce of 13,000 people. Its position as a hub for climate-focused manufacturing, research, and workforce development makes it an ideal environment to advance the city’s green initiatives.
The BNYDC is looking for companies prepared to help establish New York City as a global leader in climate technology and adaptation. This effort builds upon the existing community of climate-conscious tenants and companies already operating within the Yard. The RFP is a critical move to assist tenant businesses in converting their vehicle fleets to more sustainable electric options.

“By introducing EV charging infrastructure on the Yard campus and on our perimeter for public access, we’re taking a critical step in advancing green transportation and supporting our small business tenants’ and neighbors’ efforts to transition to cleaner, more efficient mobility options,” stated Lindsay Greene, BNYDC President and CEO. “This RFP reflects our dedication to innovation and sustainability as we build a greener future for New York City.”
