BYD marked two years of remarkable growth in Europe at the Paris Motor Show, debuting its new SEALION 7 and showcasing its expanded product line-up. The company’s presence emphasized its commitment to providing innovative new-energy vehicles tailored for European customers.

SEALION 7 Targets European Market
The SEALION 7, a mid-size pure-electric SUV, is the latest addition to BYD’s Ocean Series, which includes models like the DOLPHIN, SEAL, and SEAL U. The SEALION 7 combines performance, practicality, and dynamic design ideally suited for European customers. It features advanced technologies like the Blade Battery and Cell-to-Body (CTB) construction. With a rapid acceleration of 0-100km/h in just 4.5 seconds and charging speeds up to 230kW, the SEALION 7 is positioned as an excellent choice for long-distance travel.
BYD’s Expanding Presence in France
At the Paris Motor Show, BYD’s stand featured the French debut of the YANGWANG luxury brand with the U8 SUV, alongside an expanded selection of their new-energy vehicles. The French audience also had the opportunity to experience the urban-focused DOLPHIN and the ATTO 3, featuring Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology.
The Paris show also featured the SEAL U DM-I, BYD’s first European plug-in hybrid model, boasting up to 1,080km of range and a spacious interior. The SEALION 7 was launched to cater to the increasing interest in high-performance SUVs among European customers.
Two Years of Unprecedented Growth
BYD entered the European market with the ATTO 3, HAN, and TANG at the 2022 Paris Motor Show, and within just two years, the brand’s European offering has more than doubled. Michael Shu, BYD’s European Managing Director, noted the impressive pace of expansion, saying, “Now, just two years later, we have eight models to offer.” BYD‘s commitment to expanding in Europe is underscored by plans to build two local production facilities within the EU.

BYD’s growth in Europe is part of a larger global trajectory. As of now, the company employs over 900,000 staff globally, including more than 100,000 engineers focused on research and development. The company recently produced its nine millionth new-energy vehicle, a milestone that highlights the rapid progress in its automotive segment.
