BYD has confirmed the Ti7 as its first seven-seat car for the UK market, a plug-in hybrid SUV that the company says will become its largest and most versatile model to date. Measuring 5,146mm long, 1,995mm wide and 1,865mm tall, the three-row SUV pairs BYD’s Dual Mode Performance (DM-p) plug-in hybrid powertrain with all-wheel drive. The company reports a 0–62 mph time of 4.8 seconds and an electric-only WLTP combined range of 79 miles. Pricing and specifications are due in the coming weeks.

A New Flagship for BYD UK
The Ti7 is positioned as BYD’s UK flagship, aimed at larger families and active-lifestyle buyers. At more than five metres long, it sits above any vehicle currently in BYD’s UK line-up and introduces the brand’s three-row body style to British customers for the first time.
The exterior carries what BYD describes as boxy, rugged proportions, with chunky wheel arch extensions, a strong shoulder line, and a vertical drop-off at the rear. At the front, a prominent lower bumper section in a contrasting titanium finish sits beneath a dual-layer LED lighting signature. Within those proportions, BYD says the Ti7 packages three rows of seating alongside a generous load space.
DM-p Plug-In Hybrid Powertrain
The Ti7 features BYD’s Dual Mode Performance (DM-p) plug-in hybrid powertrain. Drive comes from two electric motors driving all four wheels, paired with a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine.
Key performance figures BYD has disclosed for the UK-bound model:
- 0–62 mph: 4.8 seconds
- Electric-only range: 79 miles WLTP combined
- Drivetrain: All-wheel drive via dual electric motors plus 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol
BYD’s UK plug-in hybrid range has so far been built around its DM-i (Dual Mode Intelligent) technology, with models including the SEAL U DM-i, SEAL 6 DM-i, SEALION 5 DM-i and ATTO 2 DM-i on sale. The DM-p designation signals BYD’s performance-focused plug-in hybrid system, distinct from the efficiency-tuned DM-i.
WLTP range figures are measured under the European test cycle and are not directly comparable to U.S. EPA figures.
