Since launching in the UK in March 2023, BYD has aggressively expanded its lineup, introducing four new models in under two years. The much-anticipated SEALION 7 will soon join the range, further strengthening the brand’s presence.
According to Steve Beattie, Sales and Marketing Director at BYD UK, “BYD has gone from strength to strength, and I’m immensely proud of our team and retailers. Our goal is to bring high-tech, high-value cars to UK customers, and it’s fantastic to see more people choosing BYD.”
A significant driver of BYD’s brand awareness was its sponsorship of EURO 2024, which reached a global audience of over a billion. Additionally, the Q4 2024 launch and marketing push for the SEAL U DM-i cemented its position as a core model in the lineup.
Beyond passenger cars, BYD has a well-established commercial vehicle division in the UK. Since 2014, the company has deployed over 2,000 fully electric buses across major cities. BYD has also contributed 1.8GWh of battery energy storage to the UK’s national grid since 2016.
Looking ahead, BYD plans to expand further in 2025, increasing its retail footprint and continuing investments in brand awareness.
