ChargePoint Holdings, Inc., a prominent networked charging solution provider for electric vehicles (EVs), today unveiled significant updates to its software services. These enhancements aim to streamline the process for electric and mixed-fuel fleets to locate, access, and pay for vehicle charging via a unified application. This includes an innovative feature for seamless reimbursement when drivers charge their company EVs at home.

Key Highlights

  • Unified Charging Application: Fleet drivers can now manage all charging activities through one comprehensive app.
  • Home Charging Reimbursement: Integration of home charging allows for driver reimbursement, simplifying the charging process and reducing operational costs.
  • Global Charging Network Access: The software connects to over 900,000 charging points worldwide, ensuring extensive coverage for on-the-road charging needs.
  • Integration with Fleet Management Systems: ChargePoint’s software can be seamlessly integrated into existing fleet management systems using its open API.
  • Insightful Fleet Analytics: Enhanced reporting tools provide detailed insights into driver behavior, energy usage, and cost-efficiency.

“We continue to bring to market new, innovative solutions that enable a frictionless charging experience for EV drivers and fleet operators alike,” stated Rich Mohr, SVP, Americas at ChargePoint. “We are committed to enabling an unmatched driver experience with solutions such as home charging reimbursement, while also giving our customers optimal fleet management tools to minimize total cost of ownership.”

The software is an extension of ChargePoint’s successful in-dash applications used by over a dozen car manufacturers, now available in a versatile app format for fleet operators. For those managing take-home fleets, the ChargePoint Home Flex residential charging station is available, supporting cost-effective home charging and facilitating driver reimbursements.

An early adopter of this integrated ChargePoint technology is WEX, a renowned fuel card provider, demonstrating the software’s broad applicability and ease of integration into various fleet management solutions.

The package also includes a suite of tools designed to offer fleet operators better control and analysis of their fleet operations, with features such as preferred pricing, proactive monitoring, and comprehensive energy and cost reports. These tools assist in pinpointing efficiency improvements by analyzing when and where drivers charge their vehicles.
