EnergyHub and FLO have teamed up to assist utilities in managing electric vehicle (EV) charging demands, enhancing grid reliability throughout North America. This partnership enables residential customers using FLO chargers to join EnergyHub’s utility programs, offering them rewards for contributing to a stable electrical grid.

Key Highlights:

  • EnergyHub and FLO collaborate to manage EV charging load
  • First integration of FLO’s new platform with an Edge DERMS system
  • FLO customers can enroll in EnergyHub’s utility programs
  • Integration leverages OpenADR technology
  • EnergyHub serves over 80 utility clients
  • FLO chargers offer a 5-year warranty and top reliability

This partnership introduces the first integration of FLO’s advanced platform and next-generation chargers—such as the FLO Home™ X3, X6, and X8 models—with an Edge Distributed Energy Resource Management System (DERMS). By connecting directly with EnergyHub through OpenADR, FLO customers gain access to EV programs across EnergyHub’s network of more than 80 utility partners.

FLO aims to optimize the experience for EV drivers while bolstering grid resilience. Julien Deschamps, Channel Development Director at FLO, noted, “By integrating with EnergyHub, we’re enabling our customers to participate in utility programs that reward smart charging, ensuring efficient energy use across the U.S.”

EnergyHub’s solution helps utilities maintain a cost-effective and reliable grid via demand response and load-shaping strategies. Its Distribution Load Optimization tool also prevents local grid overloads, reducing the need for costly upgrades. Matt Johnson, VP of Business Development at EnergyHub, added, “Integrating with FLO enhances our network of EV partners, delivering greater value to utilities and their customers.”

EnergyHub operates as an independent subsidiary of Alarm.com (NASDAQ: ALRM). Meanwhile, FLO’s smart chargers stand out with type 4X protection, a 5-year warranty, and a durable, stylish design that supports all connector types.
