Chery’s LEPAS Brand Unveils Modular LEX Platform

Chery's LEPAS brand introduces the LEX Platform featuring EEA 5.1 architecture, 800V charging capability, and 45.79% thermal efficiency engines for global new energy vehicle markets.

LEPAS, the new energy vehicle brand from China’s Chery Group, has introduced its LEX Platform designed for global markets. The architecture supports pure electric, hybrid, and multiple powertrain configurations across vehicle segments.

The platform incorporates Chery’s EEA 5.1 electronic and electrical architecture, featuring a dual-zone, dual-center integrated solution. This configuration enables coordinated operation of intelligent cockpit systems, advanced driver assistance functions, and powertrain controls.

Highlights

  • EEA 5.1 architecture enables hardware standardization, over-the-air software updates, and cross-system data interoperability
  • 800V high-voltage charging reduces charge times for battery electric variants
  • 45.79% thermal efficiency internal combustion engine achieves 4.9 L/100 km in charge-sustaining mode
  • Body torsional rigidity of 23,800 N•m/deg exceeds comparable vehicle benchmarks

Chassis and Structural Engineering

The LEX platform chassis was developed with input from European engineering teams. Key technologies include active suspension and electronically controlled damping systems.

Structural specifications include a body torsional rigidity rating of 23,800 N•m/deg and a three-stage half-shaft design. These components target refined ride quality while maintaining responsive handling characteristics.

Powertrain and Thermal Management

The platform accommodates multiple energy solutions across global markets. The internal combustion engine option delivers 45.79% thermal efficiency, translating to fuel consumption of 4.9 L/100 km during charge-sustaining operation.

Electric variants utilize an 800V high-voltage architecture for reduced charging duration. A dual-source wide-temperature-range heat pump system maintains operation in ambient temperatures as low as –40°C, addressing cold-climate market requirements.

Platform Strategy

LEX serves as the foundation for LEPAS brand vehicle development across powertrain types. The modular approach enables accelerated development timelines for pure electric, hybrid, and alternative energy configurations targeting diverse regional markets.
