Lotus has opened mainland-Europe orders for the Eletre X, a hybrid SUV priced from €96,990 (about $112,700) and built on the company’s new X-Hybrid powertrain. Sold as the For Me in China, it is the first Lotus model to use the X-Hybrid architecture, which Lotus Technology describes as pairing battery-electric performance with an internal-combustion generator for extended range. Customer deliveries on the continent are expected from Q4 2026, with the UK to follow in summer 2027, subject to right-hand-drive homologation. Lotus notes that the specifications released with the launch are targets, not final homologated figures.
Highlights
- Two variants: the Eletre X H550 from €96,990 (~$112,700) and the flagship Eletre X H1000 from €119,990 (~$139,400).
- Target combined range exceeding 1,200 km (WLTP), with up to 350 km on electric power alone.
- A 70 kWh battery charging from 20–80% in about 9 minutes on a 350 kW DC charger, according to the company.
- Up to 952 PS and 935 Nm, with a targeted 0–100 km/h time of 3.3 seconds; deliveries from Q4 2026.

How Does the X-Hybrid System Work?
X-Hybrid is an electric-first powertrain that uses an internal-combustion engine as a generator rather than a primary drive source. At its center is an 11C high-discharge battery paired with a 150 kW onboard generator driven by a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine. The company says the generator replenishes available energy while driving, which it contrasts with conventional hybrids that rely on regenerative braking alone.
The system adapts how energy is deployed based on speed, battery state of charge, and driver demand, shifting between pure-EV running, onboard power generation, and hybrid assistance. Combined with a 900V architecture and a 52-liter fuel tank, Lotus targets a combined WLTP range above 1,200 km and up to 350 km on electric power. Because these are WLTP figures, they are not directly comparable to U.S. EPA estimates, which typically come in lower.
Lotus Technology Chief Executive Officer Qingfeng Feng tied the system to the brand’s driver focus. “Eletre X is proof of how cutting-edge technology can serve the driver, a value which is at the heart of the Lotus brand. We feel that we have created something which not only pushes the boundaries of what is possible from a technical standpoint but, in doing so, enriches their emotional and practical driving experience,” he said.

Performance Targets
The Eletre X uses dual permanent-magnet motors for a targeted 952 PS and 935 Nm of torque. The company reports 0–100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and 80–160 km/h in 3.88 seconds. Lotus also states that roughly 550 kW of output remains available at about 20% state of charge, which it presents as evidence of consistent performance as the battery depletes. The platform was first detailed for European buyers in earlier Eletre X coverage that drew on the China-market prototype.
Chassis, Aerodynamics, and Brakes
Lotus says weight savings across the body frame, drive system, and battery base plate leave the Eletre X H550 up to 120 kg lighter than the fully electric Eletre 900. The body uses what Lotus calls a “porosity” approach to airflow, with an active grille shutter and an active rear spoiler that the company says can generate up to 120 kg of downforce under braking.
Chassis hardware includes:
- 48V active anti-roll control, with up to 1,400 Nm of roll-stabilizing torque
- Dual-chamber air suspension and dual-valve adaptive dampers that the company says respond in as little as 2 milliseconds
- Front double-wishbone suspension and active torque management
- Custom Pirelli P Zero 5 LTS tires and Brembo six-piston brakes

Cabin and Onboard Technology
Inside, the Eletre X runs the Lotus Hyper OS infotainment system across slim digital displays, retaining analogue controls for primary functions and adding a head-up display. A 23-speaker KEF audio system uses the supplier’s Uni-Q driver layout. Thirty perception sensors and NVIDIA Thor computing hardware support the car’s driver-assistance functions. Interior materials include carbon fiber, Alcantara, and Wyron Truecycled, an upcycled textile.
Pricing and Availability
The Eletre X launches in two variants:
- Eletre X H550 — from €96,990 (~$112,700)
- Eletre X H1000 — from €119,990 (~$139,400)
Orders are open now across Lotus’s mainland-Europe markets, with deliveries expected from Q4 2026 and UK deliveries from summer 2027, pending right-hand-drive homologation. Lotus states that pricing excludes options, taxes, and delivery charges and may be revised.
