China EV Marketplace Launches Europe Delivery

China EV Marketplace launches door-to-door delivery from China to Europe, simplifying imports of BEVs and PHEVs with full EU homologation. Sales grew 66% globally, driven by European PHEV demand amid tariff challenges.

China EV Marketplace has introduced an innovative door-to-door delivery service, enabling European customers to easily acquire electric vehicles directly from China. This development streamlines the import process for battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), handling everything from purchase to final delivery.

Key Highlights

  • Door-to-Door Service: Customers can order new Chinese BEVs or PHEVs and receive them at their doorstep in Europe.
  • EU Homologation Included: The service manages complete EU homologation, ensuring vehicles are road-legal and ready for registration.
  • Sales Growth: The company sold over 7,000 China EVs globally in the first half of the year, marking a 66% increase year-over-year.
  • European Market Share: About 40% of sales occurred in Europe, driven by a 370% rise in PHEV sales.
  • Tariff Impacts: BEV sales to Europe dropped 25% due to additional tariffs up to 35%, while PHEVs face only the standard 10% duty.
  • Vehicle Breakdown: 65% of sold EVs were commercial vehicles, and 35% were passenger vehicles, all with English-language infotainment.
  • EREV Challenges: Sales of extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs) to the EU were nearly zero, as they are classified as BEVs and subject to the same high tariffs.
  • US Market: Contributed less than 1% of sales due to over 100% tariffs, with deliveries mainly for benchmarking or enthusiasts.
China EV Marketplace Launches Europe Delivery

The new service addresses longstanding barriers in international car imports. China EV Marketplace oversees purchase and logistics management, pre-shipping inspection, duty clearance, and the essential EU homologation process. This ensures that vehicles arrive fully compliant, eliminating traditional complexities for buyers.

Jakub Gersl, COO of China EV Marketplace, emphasized that this offering allows EV enthusiasts in Europe to bypass headaches associated with importing vehicles. The platform positions itself as a trusted partner for acquiring China EVs, focusing on reliability and authority in the market.

In terms of sales performance, the company’s growth in Europe has been notable, particularly for PHEVs, which avoid the extra tariffs imposed on BEVs. Conversely, the decline in BEV sales highlights the impact of trade policies on market dynamics. All vehicles exported feature English interfaces, enhancing usability for international customers.

Extended-range electric vehicles, treated as BEVs under EC policy because they include an internal combustion engine solely as a battery generator, face similar tariff hurdles, resulting in minimal sales in the region.

Globally, the platform’s minimal presence in the United States underscores the challenges posed by high tariffs, limiting deliveries to niche purposes.

China EV Marketplace operates as a global e-commerce platform under ChinaCrunch Ltd., managed by Anex Trade Limited in Hong Kong. It specializes in exporting new Chinese EVs, including passenger cars, buses, commercial vehicles, micro cars, and spare parts. The company partners with major automakers like SAIC, FAW, SGMW, Changan, BYD, Dongfeng, Geely, Chery, and JAC, along with over 70 dealerships across China.

This extensive network enables the largest selection of Chinese EVs for export, encompassing brands such as Tesla, Nio, Xpeng, VW ID. (both SAIC and FAW), Buick, Bestune, and Hongqi. Notably, the company exports only new cars, having discontinued used car sales due to quality concerns.

The purchase and logistics management service covers the entire journey: from ordering in China to delivery in Europe, including sea freight, inland logistics, homologation, and duty clearance for selected regions. Customers receive a fully legal vehicle with all required documents.

Gersl reiterated the company’s mission to serve as the most trusted and authoritative purchase partner for China EVs.
