E-Van, a division of Embassy Corporation, has launched its new Electra-Flex composite body for electric commercial vehicles. This innovative design will debut at the Advanced Clean Technology Expo (ACT Expo) in Anaheim, California, from April 28 to May 1, 2025. The Electra-Flex body aims to tackle the challenges of shifting commercial fleets to electric power, offering improved efficiency, durability, and adaptability.
Key Highlights
- Lightweight and Durable: Composite materials cut weight while boosting strength, perfect for EVs.
- Thermal Protection: Provides R-10 insulation on walls, roof, and floor for better temperature control.
- Customizable Options: Fits wheelbases from 158 to 208 inches, with lengths of 15 to 20 feet.
- Versatile Applications: Ideal for step vans, work trucks, delivery vans, and buses.
- Enhanced Repairability: Simple fiberglass repairs reduce downtime and costs.
- Aerodynamic Design: Paired with the Sevna cab, it improves efficiency and range.
The Electra-Flex body stands out in the electric vehicle market. Its lightweight composite construction reduces vehicle weight, extending range—a key factor for EVs. It also offers R-10 thermal protection, ensuring efficient heating and cooling, which is vital for temperature-sensitive cargo like perishables in delivery vans.
Customization is a major advantage. With wheelbase options from 158 to 208 inches and body lengths of 15 to 20 feet, it supports cargo capacities of 669 to 892 cubic feet. This makes it adaptable for various uses, from step vans to buses. Inside, a 70-inch uniform height and custom anchor points allow easy setup of shelving or tie-downs.
Repairs are straightforward with composite materials, needing only basic fiberglass fixes rather than major replacements. When combined with the Sevna cab, the body’s aerodynamic design enhances efficiency and range further.
Mike Schoeffler, CEO of Embassy Corporation, noted, “This body showcases our engineering expertise, offering a flexible solution for electrifying commercial fleets.” Visit Booth 4883 at the ACT Expo or email [email protected] for details.
