Electrify Commercial and Arizona Public Service Bring Ultra-Fast Charging Station to Show Low

Show Low station is the first of five stations to become operational in the state this year as part of ‘Take Charge AZ’ initiative

Reston, VA – Electrify Commercial recently announced the opening of an ultra-fast electric vehicle (EV) charging station in Show Low, Arizona, in collaboration with Arizona Public Service (APS). This is the first operational station Electrify Commercial is supporting as part of APS’ ‘Take Charge AZ’ investment in EV fast charging.

Located in the parking lot of City Hall on 9th Street, the new Show Low station features a total of four ultra-fast chargers – including two that offer 350kW, the fastest charging speed available today, enabling capable electric vehicles to charge in as little as 20 minutes. Drivers visiting the Show Low location can pay by credit or debit card or by using the Electrify America mobile app, which also allows drivers to easily locate the new station, initiate a charge, and remotely check the progress of a charging session for a seamless experience from start to finish.

“Arizona Public Service has been a great collaborator since we began working with them last year to expand EV charging infrastructure in the state,” said Aaron Young, manager of commercial networks at Electrify America. “We look forward to our continued efforts as more Arizona drivers and businesses seek electric transportation.”

Electrify Commercial – the business unit from Electrify America designed to help deliver turnkey EV charging solutions to businesses, utilities, and government entities – is developing EV charging programs tailored to fit customers’ individual needs. Backed by the largest open, ultra-fast charging network in the U.S., Electrify Commercial presents a unique opportunity for businesses, utilities like Arizona Public Service, and government agencies that is unparalleled in the industry today.

“While we create pathways to serve our customers with 100% carbon-free electricity by 2050, we’re taking steps to help decarbonize the transportation sector and contribute to a cleaner air and energy future for Arizona,” said Daniel Haughton, APS Director of Customer Technology. “These ultra-fast vehicle chargers, installed along popular travel corridors in our state, will build range confidence in EV drivers and move us closer to our goal of supporting the adoption of 450,000 EVs in APS service territory by 2030.”

Throughout the rest of 2022, Electrify Commercial and APS expect to open four additional stations in Globe, Payson, Prescott, and Sedona, expanding access to ultra-fast charging in Arizona.
