A Strategic Technology Partnership

The partnership between General Motors and Envisics extends beyond a simple supplier relationship. GM Ventures, the venture capital arm of General Motors, has been a key supporter of Envisics, participating in the company’s Series B and Series C strategic funding rounds in 2018 and 2023. This long-term investment underscores GM’s commitment to fostering innovation with early-stage tech disruptors.

“To see the Cadillac VISTIQ in production with our AR-HUD is not only gratifying for everyone at Envisics, but also a significant endorsement of our technology,” said Dr. Jamieson Christmas, CEO and founder of Envisics. Anirvan Coomer, managing director of GM Ventures, added, “The best benefit from our partnership is that we’re now delivering innovative AR technology to Cadillac EV customers.”

Introducing the Cadillac VISTIQ

The 2026 Cadillac VISTIQ is a new luxury three-row SUV that expands Cadillac’s electric vehicle portfolio. With the introduction of the VISTIQ, Cadillac is positioned as one of the few brands offering an EV in every major luxury SUV segment. Production of the VISTIQ and the LYRIQ-V, which also features the Envisics AR-HUD, commenced this year at GM’s Spring Hill Manufacturing plant in Tennessee for global distribution.

Advanced Holographic Technology

Headquartered in the UK, Envisics is a pioneer in dynamic holography, developing AR-HUDs that revolutionize the in-car experience. The company’s ENVISICS® branded technology utilizes laser-based light sources and holography to project the highest possible image quality, providing drivers with critical information seamlessly overlaid onto their view of the road. This advancement is designed to create smarter and safer vehicles by transforming automotive displays.

The collaboration with GM represents the successful journey of Envisics’ technology from university research to commercial manufacturing, a path supported by key investors like GM Ventures.
