European showroom arrivals are scheduled for summer 2026.
Highlights
- 78 kWh LFP battery delivers up to 484 km WLTP range with 195 kW DC fast charging enabling 10-80% charge in 24 minutes
- 190 kW rear-mounted motor produces 258 PS and 290 Nm torque, accelerating 0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds
- 26-inch ultra-wide touchscreen with dual-split layout, multilingual voice recognition, and seven gesture control commands
- Comprehensive safety suite includes nine airbags, Child Presence Detection, and advanced driver assistance systems

Powertrain and Charging Performance
The CX-6e employs a rear-wheel drive configuration with a single-speed transmission. The AC synchronous motor develops 190 kW (258 PS) at 7,000 rpm and 290 Nm of torque available from 500-5,000 rpm. Top speed is electronically limited to 185 km/h.
The 78 kWh LFP battery weighs 550 kg and operates at 364 volts. Charging flexibility includes DC fast charging via CCS connector at up to 195 kW, reducing charge time from 10-80% to 24 minutes. A 30-80% charge requires just 15 minutes. The 11 kW three-phase AC onboard charger completes a full charge in approximately 8.5 hours via Type 2 connector. Maximum towing capacity reaches 1,500 kg for braked trailers.
Energy consumption ranges from 18.9-19.4 kWh/100 km depending on wheel size. Models equipped with 19-inch wheels achieve 484 km combined range, while 21-inch wheel configurations deliver 468 km. City driving range extends to 607-610 km.

Exterior Design and Dimensions
The CX-6e adopts Mazda’s “Soulful Futuristic Modern” design theme, developed through collaboration between European and Japanese design studios. European teams contributed significantly to both interior and exterior styling, color selection, and material finishes.
Key exterior dimensions include:
- Length: 4,850 mm
- Width: 1,935 mm (excluding mirrors)
- Height: 1,620 mm
- Wheelbase: 2,902 mm
- Ground clearance: 158 mm
- Turning radius: 6.0 m (curb to curb)
The signature illuminated front wing creates a three-dimensional visual effect through sequenced illumination when locking, unlocking, and charging. Aerodynamic features include slim shark-fin digital side mirrors, floating D-pillar air ducts, and sculpted body panels designed to optimize airflow.
Seven exterior colors are available: Nightfall Violet (hero color), Air Stream Blue, Crystal White Pearl, Jet Black, Aero Grey, Machine Grey, and Soul Red Crystal. All colors except Jet Black feature a contrasting black floating roof. Standard 19-inch five-spoke alloy wheels come with Takumi grade, while 21-inch double five-spoke wheels are optional for Takumi and standard for Takumi Plus.

Cargo and Interior Space
The CX-6e offers 468 liters of cargo volume with all seats in place, expanding to 1,434 liters with the second row folded. An 80-liter front trunk accommodates charging cables or overnight luggage. Load floor width between wheel houses measures 971 mm, with tailgate opening dimensions of 944 mm width and 674 mm height.
Interior space measurements include:
| Dimension | Front | Rear |
|---|---|---|
| Headroom | 1,013 mm | 994 mm |
| Shoulder room | 1,481 mm | 1,432 mm |
| Hip room | 1,408 mm | 1,367 mm |
| Leg room | 1,050 mm | 990 mm |
Rear passengers benefit from 122 mm of knee clearance and 150 mm of under-seat foot clearance. The cabin design draws from the Japanese concept of “ma,” emphasizing empty space between objects to create a calm environment.

Technology and Connectivity
The cockpit centers on a 26-inch ultra-wide touchscreen with 32:9 aspect ratio and 201 pixels-per-inch resolution. The asymmetrically mounted display reaches across the center console to the passenger side, featuring a customizable dual-split layout. Screen depth measures just 9.5 mm, with an aluminum-silicon coating to minimize glare.
Voice recognition activates with “Hey Mazda” and controls climate, audio, and ambient lighting with 256 color options. Gesture control responds to seven hand signals:
- OK sign: Navigate home
- Thumbs up: Toggle EV sound or launch CarPlay/Android Auto
- Fist: Navigate to work
- Finger heart: Add song to favorites
- V sign: Activate in-car camera
- Wave left/right: Previous/next track
Bluetooth-enabled front headrest speakers allow driver and passenger to listen to individual audio content without disturbing rear passengers. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, powered by a 23-speaker, 1,280-watt audio system.
The Mazda CX-6e app offers remote temperature control, charging management, and Bluetooth key sharing with up to three users. The Mazda Charging App provides access to charging points across multiple European countries with real-time availability and pricing data.

Vehicle Modes
Four preset modes adjust multiple vehicle systems simultaneously:
- Pet Comfort Mode: Maintains cabin temperature and displays return message
- Rest Mode: Adjusts seating and disables lighting for extended rest periods
- Relax Mode: Configures seat position, climate, windows, and audio to preset preferences
- Wash Mode: Disables wipers, folds mirrors, and closes windows
Three Drive Modes tailor performance characteristics: Normal for balanced everyday driving, Sport for enhanced throttle response and steering weight, and Individual for custom acceleration, regenerative braking, and steering settings.

Safety Systems
All CX-6e models include nine airbags: front driver and passenger, far-side airbag between front seats, front and rear side airbags, and curtain airbags. Child Presence Detection uses the interior camera to identify children in rear seats and alert drivers when exiting.
Standard driver assistance features include:
- Smart Brake Support (Front)
- Forward Obstruction Warning
- Rear Collision Warning
- Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Braking
- Lane Keeping Assist System
- Lane Departure Warning System
- Emergency Lane Keeping with Blind Spot Assist
- Intelligent Speed Assist
- Blind Spot Monitoring with Prevention
- Door Opening Warning
High-definition megapixel cameras, millimeter-wave radar, and ultrasonic sensors monitor the vehicle’s surroundings.

Chassis and Driving Dynamics
Mazda’s European R&D Centre in Oberursel, Germany, tuned the CX-6e’s chassis, steering, and braking systems for continental driving conditions. The MacPherson strut front suspension and multi-link rear suspension received recalibrated spring and damper rates.
Electric power-assisted rack and pinion steering features a 13.1:1 ratio with 2.55 turns lock-to-lock. Engineers focused on brake pedal feel during transitions between regenerative and mechanical braking, along with accelerator mapping for linear response. Ventilated front disc brakes measure 350 mm, with 346 mm solid rear discs.

Trim Levels
The CX-6e launches in two trim levels:
Takumi includes 19-inch alloy wheels, Warm Beige or Black Maztex interior, standard panoramic sunroof with 99.7% UV isolation and 35% visible light transmittance, and Welcome Mode with automatic door unlock and seat adjustment.
Takumi Plus adds 21-inch wheels, digital side mirrors with 30% wider field of view, digital rear-view mirror with 9-inch display, heated and ventilated front and rear seats, and two-tone Amethyst and White Maztex interior.
The CX-6e is manufactured in China through Mazda’s partnership with Changan. Right-hand-drive market launches will follow the European introduction.
