EVgo Inc. has officially recorded over five million sessions via its Autocharge+ feature. The company reports a sixfold increase in enrollment since 2023, with the total user base now exceeding 300,000 customers.

- High Usage: Nearly 30% of all EVgo sessions are initiated via Autocharge+.
- Broad Compatibility: Approximately 80 EV models are currently eligible.
Adoption Rates and Model Eligibility
The Autocharge+ feature allows drivers to initiate charging sessions immediately upon plugging in, removing the need for app interaction or card swiping at the station. This streamlined process has contributed to higher charge success rates across the network.
Current data indicates that nearly 30% of all sessions on the EVgo network are now initiated using this technology. As new vehicles enter the market, the list of eligible EVs continues to expand.
Currently, nearly 80 different electric vehicle models support the feature. The highest enrollment numbers come from drivers of the following makes:
- Cadillac
- Chevrolet
- Ford
- Rivian
Technical Specifications and NACS Integration
Autocharge+ relies on a one-time vehicle enrollment process to link the vehicle’s unique identifier to the user’s account. Once established, the system recognizes the vehicle automatically.
The technology is designed to support a wide range of connector standards. It functions with most Combined Charging System (CCS) vehicles as well as new native North American Charging Standard (NACS) vehicles.
Tesla drivers can also utilize the feature through two primary methods:
- Using a Tesla CCS1 adapter.
- Utilizing one of EVgo’s native NACS connectors.
EVgo performs extensive testing at its Innovation Lab to ensure reliability across these different standards. The company aims to continue deploying features like Autocharge+ and Plug and Charge to enhance network efficiency.
Enrollment and Subscription Structures
Accessing the feature requires the EVgo app, available on iOS and Android platforms. The application handles the initial pairing of the vehicle and payment method.
Once enrolled, the system combines payment processing and session initiation into a single step. This eliminates the need for RFID cards or on-screen payment interactions at the charger.
EVgo offers various pricing structures to accommodate different charging frequencies. Drivers can select from multiple subscription tiers, including:
- EVgo PlusMax
- EVgo Plus
- Pay As You Go
