EVgo has deployed more than 40% of its 2025 charging stations using domestically manufactured prefabricated modular skids. The company achieved this milestone ahead of schedule, driven by accelerated station commissionings in early Q4.
Highlights
- Prefabrication partnership with Miller Electric reduces installation costs by 15% on average
- Modular skids assembled using American steel and aluminum at Jacksonville facility
- 2025 prefab stations feature exclusively 350kW chargers capable of serving up to 14 vehicles simultaneously
- Stations now operational in seven states with additional locations under development
Partnership Delivers Cost and Time Efficiencies
EVgo’s collaboration with Miller Electric Company, launched in 2023, has accelerated station installation timelines while reducing costs. Miller Electric, based in Jacksonville, Florida, specializes in complex electrical systems and prefabricates complete charging equipment assemblies onto single base frames.
The controlled manufacturing environment ensures consistent quality across deployments. Miller Electric has scaled its prefabrication capacity and now employs more than 1,400 workers in the Jacksonville area.
“The prefabrication model is a win-win for EVgo because we can fast-track infrastructure deployment to meet charging demand and support workforce development in this growing industry,” said Dennis Kish, President of EVgo.
