Faraday Future’s FF 91 EV Triumphs in Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Crash Tests

What’s Happening

California-based intelligent electric mobility company, Faraday Future (FF), has announced a milestone achievement. The company’s electric vehicle model, FF 91 EV, has successfully met all the requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) crash test. The model endured the highest severity crash tests, including front, side, and rear impacts, coming through all with flying colors.

Why It Matters

The triumph in crash tests is a testament to Faraday Future’s unique approach to vehicle safety. The company has incorporated a distinctive side impact crumple zone, also known as a “moat body structure” + “moat pack structure.” This design not only ensures optimal protection for the vehicle occupants but also safeguards the high voltage battery. Furthermore, it also enables optimal packaging space, demonstrating a fine balance between safety, utility, and aesthetics.

Key Points

Faraday Future is not just making strides in safety but also across all operational fronts, including manufacturing, sales planning, and delivery. As of April 14th, FF proudly declared the rollout of the first production build FF 91 vehicle from the FF ieFactory California in Hanford, California. This achievement closely trails the official initiation of production of the FF 91 vehicle.

Under the company’s guiding principles of co-creation and co-sharing, a three-phase delivery plan was outlined in April, aimed at offering an unmatched experience to all FF users. In the first phase, the Futurist Product Officers (“FPOs”), industry experts, will get a first look and a chance to fully reserve and experience the innovative FF 91. They are expected to take possession of the reserved FF 91 vehicle at the outset of the second phase. This initial phase is slated for launch at May’s end, marking the start of the vehicle delivery plan.

Bottom Line

As part of its ongoing operations, the Company is qualifying industry expert FPOs. Those meeting the criteria will receive an invitation to purchase the vehicle on a first-come-first-served basis and to participate in a range of co-creation activities. A co-creation day, brimming with themed activities for the inaugural group of industry experts and users, is scheduled for June 6th.

In the foreseeable future, users can look forward to an integrated sales journey with FF. This will allow potential buyers to experience FF’s vehicles online and, eventually, in one of FF’s owned or partner showrooms. Here, they will be able to utilize FF’s O2O platform for purchases while partners can seamlessly integrate into FF’s direct sales model. It is an exciting time for Faraday Future, and it is certain that their progress will be watched keenly by electric vehicle enthusiasts and industry experts alike.
