BYD ATTO 3 EVO Launches With Dual-Motor Option

BYD's ATTO 3 EVO brings a dual-motor option, 316-mile range, and faster charging to the UK compact electric SUV segment starting at £38,990.

BYD has confirmed UK pricing and specifications for the ATTO 3 EVO, a comprehensive upgrade over the original ATTO 3. The compact electric SUV starts at £38,990 (approximately $51,860 USD) for the rear-wheel-drive Design trim. A dual-motor Excellence variant is priced at £42,730 (approximately $56,830 USD). Orders open April 2.

Highlights

  • The ATTO 3 EVO moves to BYD’s E-Platform 3.0 with rear- or all-wheel drive, replacing the outgoing model’s front-wheel-drive layout.
  • A 74.8 kWh LFP Blade Battery delivers up to 316 miles of WLTP range and supports 220 kW DC fast charging (10–80% in 25 minutes).
  • The dual-motor Excellence trim produces 443 bhp and hits 0–62 mph in 3.9 seconds.
  • Cell-to-Body battery integration increases boot space to 490 litres and adds a 95-litre front trunk.

Two Trims, Simplified Lineup

BYD offers the ATTO 3 EVO in two trim levels. The Design serves as the entry point with a single rear motor producing 309 bhp and 380 Nm of torque. It reaches 0–62 mph in 5.5 seconds.

The Excellence adds a front motor for all-wheel drive. Combined output rises to 443 bhp and 560 Nm. As a result, the 0–62 mph time drops to 3.9 seconds.

Battery and Charging Improvements

Both trims use BYD’s 74.8 kWh lithium iron-phosphate Blade Battery. WLTP range reaches up to 316 miles. Charging speed has doubled compared to the outgoing ATTO 3. The 220 kW maximum DC rate allows a 10% to 80% charge in 25 minutes.

BYD’s Cell-to-Body construction integrates the battery pack as a structural element of the chassis. This approach improves rigidity and enables a five-link rear suspension for better ride and handling.

Interior and Standard Equipment

The Design trim includes the following as standard:

  • Display: 8.8-inch digital instrument panel and 15.6-inch touchscreen with integrated Google Maps, Google Assistant, and Google Play Store
  • Charging ports: Four USB-C ports (two at 60 W, two at 18 W) plus wireless smartphone charging with cooling
  • Driver aids: Front and rear parking sensors, 360° surround-view camera
  • Comfort: Electrically adjustable heated front seats, ambient lighting, heat pump, and 18-inch alloy wheels
  • Utility: Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability

The Excellence adds a head-up display, heated rear seats, and a panoramic sunroof with electric sunshade.

Increased Practicality

The ATTO 3 EVO gains 50 litres of boot space over its predecessor, totaling 490 litres. Additionally, the new platform creates room for a 95-litre front trunk. BYD backs the vehicle with a six-year, 93,750-mile warranty and battery coverage of up to eight years or 155,350 miles.
