The latest Euro NCAP safety test results have awarded five-star ratings to both the MINI Cooper E and the Audi A6 e-tron, proving that safety excellence transcends car size and cost. The MINI Cooper E, a compact electric vehicle, upholds the brand’s legacy of advancing safety with each new model, while the Audi A6 e-tron, a larger electric family car, delivers exceptional protection for adults and children alike. This small car now includes advanced features like autonomous emergency braking—detecting cars, pedestrians, and cyclists—alongside lane-keeping assistance and blind-spot monitoring, ensuring comprehensive protection for occupants and vulnerable road users.
Meanwhile, the Audi A6 e-tron reinforces Audi’s strong safety reputation, following in the footsteps of its predecessors from 2011 and 2018, both of which also secured five-star ratings. Its standout performance in child safety, earning a perfect score in the Child Occupant test, makes it a top pick for families. Euro NCAP’s Programme Director, Aled Williams, commended both vehicles, stating: “The new MINI Cooper E shows how you could own a fun-to-drive, small electric car and not have to compromise on safety.” He added, “As for Audi’s new A6 e-tron, we were particularly impressed by how well this large family car protected both adults and children in the event of an impact.” These accolades emphasize the broad appeal of both cars.
