The 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E and 2024-25 F-150 have earned top safety awards from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), recognizing their exceptional performance in crash tests and safety evaluations. The awards highlight Ford’s ongoing commitment to safety and innovation across its vehicle lineup.
Key Highlights:
- The 2024 Mustang Mach-E earned the TOP SAFETY PICK+ award for models built after August 2024.
- The 2024-25 F-150 received the TOP SAFETY PICK award for models built after September 2024.
- Vehicles must excel in crashworthiness, pedestrian crash prevention, and headlight performance to qualify for these distinctions.
- Ford’s 2024 Explorer and Lincoln Nautilus also earned TOP SAFETY PICK+ earlier this year.
To earn a TOP SAFETY PICK designation, vehicles must achieve good ratings in the small overlap front test and updated side tests, along with acceptable or good ratings in pedestrian crash prevention and headlights across all trims. To achieve the TOP SAFETY PICK+, vehicles must also receive acceptable or good ratings in the updated moderate overlap front test.
These latest awards underscore Ford’s strong safety record and emphasize its dedication to protecting drivers, passengers, and pedestrians alike.
“Our rigorous internal safety evaluations ensure Ford and Lincoln products meet the highest standards,” said Bob Holycross, Ford’s chief sustainability, environment, and safety officer. “Across our portfolio, we are dedicated to designing safe experiences for our customers and all road users. We are proud of these achievements and remain committed to continuous improvement.”
In addition to these IIHS honors, all awarded Ford models also received five-star safety ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
